Nice sketchbook, your studies look very solid as far as I can tell. Have you ever tried Bridgman's 'Drawing From Life' btw? Far better and more detailed than Constructive Anatomy, you should definitely look it up if you don't have it in your library yet. Keep up the good work.

Hey cgadditc, thanks for the advice, i'll search out 'Drawing from life'.
but the think about 'Cronstuctive anatomy' is that I wish to become really good at anatomy! and i love books, give me more good titles, please?!

what do you think of the heads? are they solid? in some wich i tried to put the features of the face it seems wrong... is it because i still dont get the features or they are placed wrong?

also check out glen vilppu, as cgaddict knows the studies are good for getting nice lines and understanding the lines outside and within the masses, sphere forms as a matter of fact are good fun too. Great work so far are you enjoying yourself?

Tom Fenton: i'm enjoying a lot, it is too much fun to get to know the constructions, the planes, the muscles... and then, with that in mind, it gets a lot easyer to put on paper the image from the head. i'll check it out Glen Ilppu, i think that my lines can get better. to me, at times they get to hard, too dark for a line

Color Excursion, thanks man, i really like doing anatomy studies! now when i am just fooling around, with anatomy in mind, the drawing are starting to get better.

here is a portrait from mind that i am doing for practice. it is suposed to be a princes in a boring situation. i am consulting a tutorial from imaginefx on how to paint portraits. really liking the drawing, will start blocking the collors:

Hey nice to see you doing so many studies!
In your lifedrawings try not to focus so much on just the outside contours, look at your Bridgman studies for example, there is a lot more thought and care put into the lines and form inside the figure than just the outside silhouette. The silhouette can be good for establishing design and proportions, but its everything else that gives character and form!

You are having a great amount and nice studies in here.The most important thing is to uderstand what u are doing and not simply copying these studies.I am a little drunk now but with that u can be sure i am telling right things.
Try to simplify the figure.I like what i see in your studies but i cant be sure of how much you know.TO show us this thing u have to make some imaginary works.Dont be afraid.Make a character and upload it.Its a very good way.If u work doing studies and such it gives u experience and info, then u must be pumped up and immediately use the knowledge to make an imaginary piece.I guess its that method of trial and error, but i dont want to name it.Just study and always try to apply the knowledge.In that way you learn faster.You make your brain work a l.ot more.U show great skills in your studies so i guess you will improve very quick.I think for now keep up doing what u do.Just keep thinking hard and try to understand what u are doing.always question yourself why this is like this and ;like that.
While working on this by yourself, use some books to inspire u.Loomis is good for these simplifyings, bridgman have great mass related things(will help u in gesture i think), vilpu also have some great info(i may call it a little more advanced,hogarth is also very good [actually anything is great as long as u try to understand it rather than copying it)

U seem to have very good skills so keep it up!!!

SirGreenSock: yes, i have noticed that and in the following classes i tried to aply the inside form as well. thanks for stoping by!

kingkostas: ok, i will try to make some imaginary stuff, but, i have a lot of difyculties when using photoshop, i just can`t get the hang of it... it always seems bad, stiff and "not volumetric"(forgot the word). then i give up and go back to studying, because i think i'm not good enought yet, and becomes a circle, were i just can't make finished pieces and can't stop making studies.
in the new ones i'm making i'm trying to draw the muscles right placed from mind, think its working.

looong time since i last posted... shame on me..
as I said in the edited opening topic, i subscribed to a illustration/painting class, with a really nice teacher, who thinks a lot like me!
his method is based on copy of great artists works, like the XIX century painters, some realistic american academys of this century, and alikes.

i am enjoying it a LOT!! and i think i evolved very much in the 3 months i've been attending

these are made in charcoal, sized A2 (sorry, don't know the inches...), made smooth with the fingers and brushes.

the last one is done, i'll post it tomorrow!

The last studies are looking good. I think you've come a long way in the last one and a half years. It's a great idea to keep using traditional tools, especially pencil.
