the eyes studies are very nice; try doing them in pairs so you get the spacing right.
I like the pencil strokes on the last portrait.
    Do some anatomy studies. cheers

Your latest female drawing looks nice! I'd pay some more attention to the neck, it looks really thin. I think it should be a little bit thicker. Also, the right eye (on the drawing, left eye for her) looks a bit wonky. I like it though! The shadows are a nice effect. Keep it up!

For the old man: Shadows look nice, you've got some good dark areas. Try working out one of your heads a bit more, I think the result would be very nice!

@Jesus Masochist - Thanks, that's great advice. Doing eyes in pairs is definitely harder and very good practice.
@CrownLullaby - Hey Liesa, thanks for stopping by. I'll double-check the neck and eye. By work out, do you mean I should go darker?

I think your dark areas are doing pretty ok, you have a nice contrast. With working out I mean going a bit more into detail. Once you get the whole structure of the face, you can try pushing yourself a bit more towards detailed drawing!

I like your eyes, you can see the evolution. The middle pair is my favourite! Keep up the good work!

great start, though I would start expanding from heads and including some more abstract exercises- gesture drawing and such. I think ultimately it helps quite a bit more than just sticking hard to one subject such as the head.

@CrownLullaby - Absolutely. One of the many things I want to work on is varying hard and soft edges...I am still struggling with charcoal.
@Brandon Pilcher - Thanks for stopping by!
@Little-Maiden - Thanks for the advice! I probably should try gesture drawings too.

These are some copies from AztecFireflower's awesome sketchbook. Esmeralda is my hero!
