    first environmental concept

so this is the start of a environmental concept
it's not finished but my question is is the feeling of depth apparent?
I have used warmer colours int he foreground and cooler colours in the background but do i need to add more?

so if I am asking the wrong things or i have my colour theory totally wrong i am new to this??

Colors in the background are suppose to be less saturated and more close to the sky itself. In this case you did a good job of that. Colors in the foreground are not necessary warm, it depends on what you are trying to draw but it has the highest contrast. What you have here are extreme contrast between foreground, mid ground and background and don't have anything to show the transition from something close and going far into background. So, darken up the foreground, and the rock on the left that has the building in front. Since your light source is coming from the back, rocks won't be that light unless its going far away and showing the depth like the ones in the mid ground to the right. I did a quick paint over to show you what I mean color wise. Since your buildings are almost the same color as the rocks, I suggest emphasizing them using different colors or those projector lights to draw the attention to them. This goes especially for the one on the left. Once the rock is really dark, and the building is behind the rock, it will be in dark. Create secondary light source here. Also, to make your image more interested, I've erased that rock that was on the left connecting bottom with that hanging rock, it was creating box and framed the environment. Also, that little hole at the bottom, was kind of distracting because it was so tiny and close to the edge. Either fill it in the way I did or make a larger one.
