Nice background colors in the last painting..very..dreamlike? I also like the life drawings in #122, with all the chaos/texture (if you get which ones I mean...)
One thing I notice is that sometimes, some of your faces are blocky, and only hard edged.. Just a nitpick thing though!
skMOP - Yeah you got it man, I couldnt remember anything from the background that day in college, so I wanted to make seem like thatYeah I know the ones, im actually doing more of those tomorow. You get a sheet of acetate and cover it with ink, throw down some newsprint and draw on that, then turn it over and you get all these weird textures. Its great, you can use a pencil or a big stick if ya want
.
I think youre right about my faces, thanks for mentioning that. My life drawing teacher said that to me last year actually hehe. I think I should do studies of womens faces and try and get the softness through. Thanks for nit picking!
Bad self portrait!
I dont mean theres no likeness, I just need practiceThis is what happens when you dont paint for like a month!

I like the pencil one where you are trying to really give form to the clothing on the chair - nicely done and interesting to look at. Also post 122 has some nice charcoals. Keep up the hard work and post more often! *whip cracks* :p

Great sketchbook lots of different things happening here. Looking forward to seeing more. Keep em coming.
ThomasM - Thanks man! Those charcoal ones are actually just drawings on newsprint which is on top of a sheet of asate covered in ink. lol. *jumps up* yes sir!
Mitze - Thanks alot, I will!
For CHOW
A sketch of Idra, you SC2 nerds may know.
Sketches from Laurel n Hardy and also Charlie Chaplin
I want my drawings to communicate alot more, more than words!! So obviously I must study from silent films. And I predict I will be doing alot more of these, there also fun to watch. I think I can watch films from any time and appreciate it if its good.
I want to show an animation im working on but I dont know how to embed video, can anyone help me?
EDIT: Was shooting another sketchbook page so I reshot the two bad ones from last night.

Dude, what an awesome idea to sketch from silent films. I'm definately going to steal that from you.Great Chow too, add some contrast and it's going to be awesome.
ismo - Please go ahead!Everyone can learn something from them. Its hard to pause on the pose you want though since theres less frames
Thanks, yes I definitely need to add more contrast!
20 min selfportrait and more Chaplin studies

Hey,
thanks for visiting my sketchbook, I really appreciate the advice, I did some studies as you suggested
Really nice pencilwork you've got here and I also like the heads from your paper sketchbook and those color studies on page two are great (I like the purple one with 5 colours most).
You have a great sketchbook going on here! I especially like the Miyazaki inspired watercolors. Those came out fantastic! I am impressed by how much you are drawing, painting, and posting work up on here. I need to follow your lead a bit more with my art productivity. I look forward to seeing more work from you.
Justyna - No problem anytime man! Thanks very muchI appreciate that! Im a bit conscious of my pencil work being sloppy.
Mooktar - Thanks man! Glad you like those, I hope to do more in the future. I hope you do boost your art productivity man! It feels great to know your doing as much as you can. But unfortunately it feels shit when you know your not haha.
Some drawing to start the day.
Making progress on my zombie character design, based on myself of course. Worked heavily from the thumbnail I did, mainly picking the colors from that and ones that came from opaque brushes.
Looks like no more belly dancing for me.
Tilt legged desert animal with tan scales.
Painted for the DSG.
Ive decided that If im going to do a painting Im going to try and not be sketchy with my rendering, I need to put in the hours because I dont think my sketchy work has enough experience to back it up. I like how this turned out but I certainly couldnt do it any quicker than I did at this stage.

I like your sketches a lot. Everything feels so poke-able which is a good thing for me at least.
What is shape to shape drawing? couldn't find anything on that with Google.

Hi there! I really like your rendering, being very loose and textury but still holding the forms in, if you get what I mean. Love them studies as well. I'm curious about "rearranging approach" that you mentioned, so I'll keep in tune to this thread of yours.
Keep it up, man![]()

krysjez - thanks alot. Haha pokeable, I like that, and I get what you mean. Shape to shape is a way of drawing where your completely focused on the shapes in what your drawing and thats all you put on the page, they should take at least 40 minutes to complete. I wrote a good bit about it in super robot bomber's sketchbook.
witcrack - thanks man! Im really glad that that comes across because its something im not fully sure I grasp hehe. Im not sure what you mean about the rearranging approach, maybe its something I forget I said
LtPlissken - wow did I need someone to say that. I didnt realise I did but when I say it I was like yeah, I really need to stop worrying about getting good so much. Thanks man. Really appreciate it haha.
Self portrait. Still trying to use my shape to shape in a gestural way while applying it to a painting process. It has its uses and I think this is definetely something for me to take further. Its not really evident in this painting thoughhaha.
And sketches. Some of the bog bodies exhibit, and some of the living!
Two pages didnt upload because they were JUST too big, and now photoshop wont work so I cant fix em.

witcrack - ah yes now I remember. Yeah it is true, and necessary
Been a slow week, not very productive either. People need to STOP calling to the flat and distracting me!! haha. But also Ive been thinking im becoming a little afraid to push myself too hard, which is strange. My body is 21 but my brain is 71. As Bobby Chiu would say I need to get more intense. And I certainly will try.
To quote the great Dave Rapoza. (loosely). Why would I spend all day doing things I hate, when I can do something I love.
Heres my unsatisfactory offering to the art Gods.
First two pages that failed to upload last time.
Started doing these little stamp sized watercolors. Really fun and doesnt take too long. I bought watercolor pencils the other day so hopefully when I get used to them il have some more interesting ones.
I got the Idea from James Gurney's Blog.
Water color study of a sculpture I did of a model in our first life drawing class this year. Forgot to take a picture of the sculpture but hopefully Il remember tomorow while its still bright.
This is why I hate winter, you have such a small window to take pictures of your work lol. Well I feel like it is anyway.
I just want to say im NOT this droopy faced lol. It was a mistake from the sketch phase I didnt spot right away, but I kept it because its got that religous stain glass window figure look haha. I mean regarding the porportions of course.
Anyway for the first time I feel like I got the lighting right in low light conditions, I really struggle with that. I like things to be clear, I wish I lived somewhere really sunny.

Quick self portrait. Going to do more like I did this one. I pretty much blurred my vision the whole time I was painting, by squinting!
And a sculpture of a model in life drawing.
