Capturing and training a Giant Amphibious War Beast is no easy task, but the huge profits often tempt those in need of quick money. Many embark on their journey unprepared, and end up as tasty snacks.

    Concept: Amphibious War-Beast

Chosen for it's hardened shell-like upper exterior, the Diamond-skin Whale is first choice when it comes to the battle front artillery. Not only using it's shell to protect itself and it's rider from enemies, but also using it's horns and heavy front fins to smash and swipe enemy underlings. This is the first Whale of it's kind able to store moisturizing agents in it's own skin, therefore able to be on land.

    Concept: Cthuloid Juggernaut

After the world began anew, human scouts reported enormous creatures living in the shallows, some sort of unholy union of a host of arthropods.
These creatures, with their menacing arched tentacles dripping with corrosive chemicals and long crab-like legs, were eventually enslaved for war and became the first of the Cthuloid War-Machine corps. Re-breather devices were attached over the gills to aid with breathing out of water.

    Concept: Beasts of Aquarion

The tribes have grown restless lately, the accords no longer seem to hold sway in these times... Rumors of war are whispered in the wind, times are changing and action must be taken! No longer must we fear the beasts of the Aquarion, they are strong yet so are we... together... we will be unstoppable!

    Concept: Crab-Claw Dragon

Although this beast does usually take no interest in humans and does not really pose a threat to them, it is believed that the tribe of one small island has managed to tame these monsters and is able to command them. However, this only partly true. There is a secret behind their power over these beasts, and that tribe won´t even share it with their closes allies.
They have developed a device that emits a particular tune with a frequency below what the human ear can hear, just like a dog pipe. This tune will make the Claw Dragons go crazy as hell. So, if an enemy has to be wiped out, a spy will secretly place such an device somewhere in the enemy´s base. As soon as it´s activated, every Dragon nearby will go on a rampage and wreck everything until the tune´s source has been destroyed...

After the shortage of particular types of prey due to the extreme climate changes, the killer whales sophisticated hunting techniques led them to mutate and evolved to be able to hunt new preys in land…the intelligence, versatility and speed of these beasts makes them the perfect partner for humans in this vicious new world… various costal tribes train these beasts to do their bidding and use them to protect their fresh water reserves… although sometimes captivity still has it’s price, and these beasts will turn on the hand that feeds them…

    Concept: Colossus gilled seal

Scientists don't agree about this species: some think they come from a size-increased form of salamander, others contemplate the possibility of a genetic mutation in marine mammals. Be it one option or the other, the thing is that these beasts have an instinct to find fresh water. The military forces want to make some profit, so they send an expedition to capture one of these colossi.

    Concept: Mjölner Warbeast

The Mjolner is actually a quiet peaceful creature, it is rarely violent and hunts for food, because of its large size it does not have much predators. While moving around, its opening at the bottom belly and feed on dead animal remains, or fruits or plants, or anything it can feed upon.

Mjolner toad are rumored to be often used as warbeast of the ancient tribes, the name Mjolner, which is derives from the hammer of Thor, because of its large hammer like head along with the roaring sound of thunder of the creature's scream . The eyes of the creature is extremely sensitive which allows the captor to ride and control the beast trampling across anything that crosses its path. The underbelly digestive organ is used as a clean up tool that feeds on the corpse of enemy (and sometimes friendly) fallen warriors.

    Concept: Omarion

Omarion is a fierce armored giant used by the "People of the sea" for war battles. Nobody knows exactly these creatures become so submissive to those tribes and their riders but what is known for sure is the devastation these amphibious beasts can bring upon their enemy. Though they may resemble a lobster/crab for the most part, they are somewhat a cross between a lobster and an insect and therefore can easily survive on land as well. However, Omarions that are sometimes raised on land grow as little as half the size of these sea giants and are different in the hues of their exoskeletons. In any case, the most important thing to remember - when you see the people of the sea on Omarions better get the f*ck out and run for your life...

    Concept: [*COLOR=White]Octopedis Gigantus[/COLOR]

the Octopedis Gigantus is a descendant of the more commonly known octopi of the 20th century, its main evolutionary changes are its enormous size (roughly the size of a humpback whale), its ability to move freely on land for certain amounts of time (usually no longer the a few hours until it needs to return to water), and the migration over generations of evolution of its beak to the the ends of its now tougher skinned, muscular tentacles. the latter facilitating its ability to move itself on land by latching into the ground or into large objects so it can pull itself around. not to mention they are insanely capable weapons that its not at all afraid to use due to its distrust for most living things.

a rider of this beast must be raised with it. being born near the time of the O.G.s birth. spending a lifetime with it, is the only way the O.G. will ever trust a rider. they then form a bond with their rider that allows him to control everything the O.g. does while riding it.

    Concept: Megalaxolotl

A unique evolutionary branch of Axolotls, the Megalaxolotl is an intelligent and strong amphibious organism. It is a mild tempered creature but can be quite ferocious when threatened, it has also been known to use it's environment wisely in confrontations. Very few have been able to tame such beasts that only reside in the coldest parts of the now reformed polar ice caps. The Megalaxolotl only reproduce one time in there lifespan and because of that the organism is very protective of it's offsprings. Those who have tamed these beasts often only do so through exploiting the organism's parental nature by holding it's offspring hostage. But sometimes this method in itself is a gamble.

    Concept: Deep Sea War Lobster

40 years after the Great melt, nuclear war broke out over the few remaining continents. This contaminated much of the ocean water near land. Most creatures simply died from this contamination, but a certain species of lobster quickly adapted and even flourished in this toxic wasteland. the next few thousand years of mutation and evolution with atomic waste as the catalyst, led to a war machine hardly distinguishable from his old ancestor. After millennia of being pray to the fisherman and sea food restaurants of old, the tables will finally turn.
It was quickly established that the ones able to harness or befriend these sea monsters first would be the victors.

Found fathoms deep under the now melted glaciers of both poles, the newly found fresh water pockets in the oceans cause these enormous crustaceans to emerge from centuries of slumber. Conscripted into service by various armed factions, madmen, and nations, a few serve as living siege engines, causing havoc from the tsunamis that herald their arrival at shore to the ceaseless shouts of the wranglers in their micro-cities atop their beasts, ensure that the Glacier Cracker is the most formidable weapon ever used by man.

    Concept: Neptune’s Spire

Towering into the sky like the skyscraper’s from the years before the great melt, a Neptune’s Spire in its watery home is a wondrous spectacle to behold, however it is also an extremely dangerous one. With powerful hydrokinetic abilities these mutant jellyfish can control the very water they stand in, creating devastating whirlpools, tidal waves, columns of water and even vast storm systems by manipulating the moisture in the air around it.
Many human clans have tried to domesticate them however gaining the trust of a wild Neptune’s Spire is an almost impossible task, instead having to be raised and trained from birth to their battle ready maturity, a process that takes almost 200 years, and even then its loyalty is not always guaranteed. Although when successful, these amphibious beast's make the ultimate lake guardians, able to annihilate entire armies with the precocious resource they are trying to claim for themselves, fresh water.

    Concept: Armoured Toad

These large amphibians are found in the marshes and estuaries that dot the drainage basins of china.
These toads are often used as beasts of burden and are seemingly always hungry which makes them quick to attack, and all to often there trainers full victim to their apatite. Their thick skin and dense plates made of bone and scales make this creature resistant to projectiles and physical blows.

    Concept:Jormun'lau

The shallow reef, offshore the rock island Lau'lau, had always been nothing more than a fertile fishing ground to the Ta'lau people who inhabited it, until the outsiders came. Then the reef moved, and the outsiders and their boats and biting flames were as gnats to a giant. And the reef from that day forward was called Jormun'lau, Protector of the Rock.

    Concept: Green Coast-thrasher

The ferocious Green Coast-thrasher is one of the top predators to be found on land and in sea. In a world where almost everything is roughly bite-size this creature has nothing to fear, except its own. With a carapace consisting of massive rock-like scales and thick skin these creatures can withstand huge amounts of physical pressure, unless you of course flip it over in its back and hit the weak spot for massive damage.

Being a creature perfectly adapted for war, rivaling Warlords capture Coast-thrasher younglings in an attempt to gain the upper hand in the present freshwater-conflicts raging across the globe. However, this is not an easy endeavor. Mothers look over their young with rarely seen blood-thirst.
Once under the command of a leader, young one's show great loyalty as long as they deem necessary. Being highly intelligent, it has been noted that adult Coast-thrashers are likely to turn on their masters if they are to face one of their own.
It is not known how often this is the case, for there has only been three successfully recorded captures of the Coast-thrasher so far. All other attempts have ended in a one-sided slaughter.

    Concept: Bufo Terrasquous

Discovered in small lakes in France several years after the great melt, the Bufo Terrasquous (or Bull Terrasque) was originally around the size of an alligator. Scientists noticed it's unique features and began to breed it larger and larger until it reached the approximate size of a smaller whale. Due to its size the beast was named after the legendary river monster from the town in Southern France, Terrasquon.

The Bull Terrasque is generally a slow, docile beast, but can be quick when it needs to be, able to move it's head at extremely high speeds to catch prey. Most peculiar of all is its ability to intake fresh water, while thermal pockets in its belly and lower throat superheat the water. After a short storage period in its expanding throat it expels the water in the form of superheated steam and boiling water at high speeds from two spout-like protrusions in its mouth. Though not much is known about how it produces this heat and prevents it from burning it's insides it is theorized that it has a thick heat-resistant mucous membrane throughout most of its body. It's natural weaponry made it the perfect sentinel for fresh water. They are mostly used by military and rebel factions throughout Southern Europe.

For the first 10 years of the creatures life its fast, small and energetic. Just the right size to mount. As the beast ages it grows to gigantic sizes, strong enough to carry cargo and a small platoon. From the cradle to the grave this beast is loyal to its trainer and vary obedient. These creatures help by smelling the undead army's who devour the living and plague their land.

Only in the darkest of days have we encountered such brutality and savagery. The Mouths of War have been breathing down our necks ever since we have arrived at new America. the Hemafoat is used as a guardian of the drinking water sources of the A.C.R (Accepted Correct Rulers) association, a corporation that maintains control over the majority of the earth's remaining resources. in this time period, human technology has deteriorated into that of which would be considered primative by twenty-first century standards, mainly due to the fact that most recorded knowledge was lost during the glacial floods. of course, the A.C.R does not permit technological progress regardless of the fact...

in a world void of any form of technology, only the living organisms created by late twentyfirst century biotechnological gene splicing are used as a means of large scale war. after a number of contervercial esperiments were used to rapidly mutate the internal structure of several marine organisms, the specimens began to exibit radical mutations... inevetably, some of these specimens escaped, and managed to survive through thier mutations in a natural enviornment... and they bred.

without going into detail concerning the myriad of unnnatural war machines created in a bygone era, it can be said that the hemafoat is one of the smallest crustacean reminecent spieces... hence the reason it is most often used only to prevent illegal smuggalers of liquid from supplying their troublesome relatives with something with witch to quench their thirst...

    what use are they?

I mainly draw creatures and charcters of a SciFi/Fantasy nature, but I have dabbled in the art of vehicles, landscapes, and buildings as well...
I have a tendencey to refute assumptions and statements if they have no valid basis, but that will probably be irrelevant here...
Please, don't mind my plentiful spelling mistakes!

Armored and fierce, the humans have developed a way to bore into the beast's head to control the creatures for use as heavy armor "vehicles" in times of battle.

    Concept: Fellrus

As the waters expanded, competition for the molluscs and clams became fierce. The walrus that had learned to prey on seals had started the species down another path. They evolved into predators both feared on land and in the sea. One tribe had learned to steal the pups and train them for war of course few attempts were successful but some did succeed and when they marched the earth shook and their enemies trembled.

    Concept: Phionacaunara

The "Phionacaunara" commonly known as Giant Amphibian War Beast is a species of mega adapted amphibian that developed when the polar ice caps melted and the world was filled with water. Phionacaunara is well adapted for aquatic and terrestial warfare and is a quite the amphibian cocktail as it's a mix of many amphibians. Some amphibians representing part of this creature are certainly the frog and toad, also including the newt and caecillian. One of the most incredible abilities of the Phionacaunara is that it can re-generate it's body parts just like it's newt ancestors. Phionacaunara is incredibily easy to train and tame but only by the "Mermanic" tribes of South New Guinea, who are by far a race of human built for amphibic survival.
