Recently I got a bulk of 90 sketchbooks on ebay and have challenged myself to fill them all up, hopefully getting down a speed of one per week.

Right on. Got some good stuff in here. So, since you are young and just getting ready to hit the pavement hard I would suggest you start with some anatomy studies. Got any anatomy books? Draw the illustrations. Learn how the human bone structure is put together and then the muscles. It pays off.

Visible improvements here, Neon. I agree with Van, anatomy and proportion are the most important things to learn first. There are some great things online by Andrew Loomis, www.saveloomis.org, and plenty of great stuff here and at The Society of Figurative Arts, www.tsofa.com, both are well worth checking out. Oooh, its great to see earlier stuff. Since you have been drawing like that since you were 13, you must have a built up library of cool stuff/charectors, keep drawing and set it free! That was cheesier than the seriously strong chedder cheese toast next to me.

But seriously your inspire me to give more commitment to my drawings, and draw the cool stuff I like.

make sure to make guide lines before you start to draw/paint, i can see in your girlfriends portrei that your lines are off, make some facial or anatomical studies if htat is what you want, in a year or two you'll look back and be happy of the progress you've made, i know, i'm laughing now at my old stuff


great pics, and the key to progress is to think of what you do and how to improve it, and most of all, draw every day. EVERYDAY !!!

Van: Thanks! ya i have one book, i did download 5 loomis books, but i had to reformat this f-ing comp because its a bastard. i hate doing anatomy studies, but i guess it has to be done..woo.

Yea i'm starting to use guildlines. hated them, but they useful, and my girlfriends face isn't as off as it seems, just that damn scanner, but a little i guess. Man old stuff really disinspires me for some reason, and i start drawing really crap...not good.
I draw nearly everyday... i think i give up to easy... oops.

I won't be updating for a few days, cause i've had alot of trouble with windows, damnit, gunna get linux soon hopefully tho its harder to use, i'll try anything to get away from windows.
Does anyone use linux btw?

confident lines look good, and u have a good grasp of space for your creatures.
Get you F**king scanner installed before I drive up there and.... install it myself!! or I could send my army of shrews... anyway..
Oh and some REALLY confident tonal work would be good.

Cool crab mech! Artist's block sucks... I hear a good remedy is to just draw scribbles all over a piece of paper and draw what you can see in them.

If that cow in you latest drawings is the same one you just dumped on my hand, Ouch it looks heavy, its cool caus it looks cool. As does the crazy creature above, like the head of some wookie like race, but a bit more skunk/badger style.
Never stop with all the crazy exaggerated stuff like the "evil turd". Makes a sketchbook more interesting than loads of life drawings.

Excellent imagination there, man! I love all the different dragons and monsters. Interesting photoshop experimenting there too. Thats a great thing to do, keep playing with different approaches and find the things that give you results you like (I need to take my own advice...more PS work).

It's obvious you dont mind hard work, I can tell you are putting it all into your drawings. Keep at it and do more finished pieces. Youre coming along great!
