    Robert's Sketchbook

    Hey everyone.

My name is Robert I'm, 24 years old from Transylvania(Romania) and I'm an industrial and economical engineer.
I've been visiting CA for years now but never had the balls to post anything. I've been drawing since i was a child, and I'm trying to draw every day now. I'm just a hobby artist but I'm trying to get better. I love robots and line art, I'm really into comics and comic art. I want to improve my painting skills, and would appreciate any tips and critiques anyone could give me.

With this sketchbook I want to force myself to draw even more every day and hopefully get some critiques.

I'm new to this forum posting since I'm used to the DA method, so forgive me if I mess up some things.

I have a sketch of Metroid Primes main character(Never played the game so don;t know any names) we did on a chillstream quick paint event.
2nd is sketch of a mech from avatar that i did during a chiustream.
3rd is a wip of an American soldier in Afghanistan, ref used a photo from http://militaryphotos.deviantart.com/

Thanks Man, trying to do more and more of these.

I'm writing Transylvania because it sounds mysterious and more interesting then just writing Romania And yes I am of Hungarian/Székely origin.

Nope Nlete it is an industrial all purpose robot for a contest over at DA. I still have to draw his little companion robot, which hauls around his replaceable tools.

I really enjoy the sketch of flower. You managed to capture it very vivid. It is not static, it has some sort of internal glow.

Hey, that's a really cool industrial-mech design. Does it transform, or are there two different types altogether?

@Farquad It's a two bot package. The smaller robot hauls the bigger robot's different arm tool around, like a welder, excavator or saw. Alternately the tool can be removed from the little robot and it can carry a load up to 53 tons around. The two actually have a linked AI, so they are kind inseparable.

@BlackDelphin See now this is why i'm a member since 2006 and yet only now started to post. This site is incredibly confusing for me. No messages of new posts, no messages is someone replies to you, it;s gonna take months till I get used to this. Oh and thanks for noting me on my mistake I removed my post from his gallery, so embarrassing X_X

@ Nlete Thanks man, yeah for an hour study it definitely should be more detailed. I have to work on my speed.

Aaah take it easy, breath, i had an account for half an year tll i started posting. Not even thinking of making a sketchbook!! (just posting!) so many threads, so many places to visit, so many ways to mess up, so many GOOD artists!! >_<

But hey! One step at a time
It's THEE best art community out there i say! Lots of dedicated people, and ways to improve fast. It's worth it!

    Succes in continaure la explorat!

@BlackDelphin Yeah back in 2006 when i subscribed i got scared away, almost instantly. But i kept coming back and coming back. Had I found Bobby Chiu back then and started being as intense about art as I am now, i would be so much better by now, and back then I had more time to draw as well.

Why are you calling that a horrible study!? :| It looks GOOD!! And it will only get BETTER!!

And that mech stuff, like always..great!

Dude, those are some excellent mechanical designs, but I think you are in need of some anatomy studies. By the way, the Main Char. in Metroid is called Samus Aran.
