geki's messy room (11/11 NEW SHTUFF!)

i think i need one of these sketchbook threads to keep my ass moving.

for the beginning, some random recent shtuff:

open canvas (wpe) - sorry for the repost, just thought it may receive a bit more attention here

painter sketch, highly inspired by dan milligan's show

    some older oc

a bit of experimenting with sepia and phtalo blue ink - pose vaguely from ref.

    Gekitsu,

Keep posting stuff! Keep that flabby butt bouncing along! I agree with Valcon about that girl. The anatomy is a little off, but the style is beautiful. Influenced by Art Nuveau? Mr. Alphonse Mucha, perhaps?

    Sincerely,
    Chris

okay, i scanned some pages of my small life drawing sketchpad i take with me wherever i go. its a5 sized, sou you might get a pretty good idea what size the drawings are.

a tube of acrylic paint which i placed on a sheet of newsprint so i have a consistently colored background. was kind of a patience exercise since i usually leave my drawings a lot earlier. it became a bit unsharp when i sprayed fixative on it (i left out the brand name and label but you might nevertheless get the point what cheap paints i use)

some tree samples i did while on a walk. trees are cool: they have interesting forms, they dont ask you to stop drawing them and they dont move.

    more tree stuff

a sketch of castle rothenfels that i abandoned quite early on because the wind grew stronger and i found the point of view becoming more and more uninteresting to me. will have to revisit this castle these days...

nice, dude. You don't know how lucky you are to have a castle you can go and draw. I'm taking my quintessential american galavant through europe this summer, and I can't wait to fill up my sketchbook with castles and cathedrals.

trees are cool, you can get them wrong and no one will know
color stuff - the giant, robot and the prom date are all cool. her head is a bit weird shaped... maybe intentional.

and the mucha thing, i definitely recognized the influence before I read I was right.

    keep posting.

something i did in my sketch pad today:

pencils, 2.5 distracted hours, scanned area should be slightly smaller than a5, no ref, no model.

if any mod is browsing around here, id like to get some opinions whether i should post my stuff in the normal finished stuff board or the beginners board.
i do this art shit for quite some time, but there still are so many apparent flaws that i dont know whether to post alongside guys like kev llewellyn.

i think the next guy i draw will have long hair or wear some shit helmet just that i dont have to draw his ear O_o

thanks for all the replies i didnt yet answer to

    retep, max, interlude: thanks guys.

    jeff: yeah, castles are cool.
it helps a bit when you had several ecclesial periods, wars and the like in your country... they all leave something: castles, cathedrals, bunkers (although few ww2 bunkers are left in germany )...

    liam: look you here: http://www.skullsunlimited.com/graph...a-skull-lg.jpg
doesnt it look weird and alien? the absence of enclosed eye sockets does it for me..
the trees and castle are from life, yes.

    i am alive (somehow)

sorry, long time no updating. i am too lazy. (quote my gf: "the only thing worse than your vanity is your lazyness")

    anyway, here we go:

something along the topic of masks, which goes round my head for quite some time now...
i did this in a bit more than an hour while having free time during my internship on a school.

    newer stuff:

punk heads, and something ultra-vaguely based on my own face, idealized some, shaved head and made a bit more fierce.

one not-too-beautyful lady with a bit too much fat on her.

one page filled with stuff. i love doing these while watching tv or something similar.

a few details of this page:

the cute negro girl with the white mask

the maniac who is dripping phil hale

the guy to the lower left with the wires on his head, some of which turn out to be direct links to the lady's black bikini top.

all of these are pencil and no ref.
