Lovely works; the ork machine is terrific, and so are the mech and the first image in May 15 post. Keep an eye on faces, sometimes the perspective looks a bit off. Anyway, great work in here!
    Keep at it

    r y a n o i r- thanks for stopping by, yea I'm starting to like it too!
    vatsel-Thanks brotha man.
Abrodos-Thanks man, yea I really need to study faces some more, and feet, faces and feet, feet faces, face feet monsters I think.

Alright I'm going to do some automotive and tank studies but until then I reaaaallllly have no ideas what I'm doing with this, any crits would be appreciated, the checks and skull on the chest were just thrown on to see how they'd look, I'll repaint them to adhere to its form in the final stages. Cheers!

Nice stuff dude really digging the mech, both the lineart and the color so far.
One thing on the mech though, keep away from the highlights if you look at tanks or pretty much all military vehicles they usually have mate paint so as to be harder to spot.
I also feel that if you manage to pull it off with mate paint (wich you will no doubt) it will give a greater sence of depth.
Anyway, really cool stuff, keep it up

Hey man, I really enjoyed looking through your sketches. your imagination and sense of design for robots and environments is awesome. I really like your line quality too. it looks like you're having trouble drawing heads in three dimensional space though - seems like you learned how to draw heads from the front and are having trouble with the structure when they turn so subsequently they're becoming flattened and distorted a little. That's probably the most notable problem I'm seeing.

The one with the bird and cloud like stuff and guy is awesome!

Thanks for the comments everybody, don't have time to respond to all of them right now. alright, last time I post a WIP of this before its finished but I'm reeeaaaaallly looking for some crits on mainly the chest piece opening in the front, the perspective looks really funny to me and I can't place it. Anyways, crits would be greatly appreciated, all the stripes are on a seperate layer at the moment, orks like fast stuff! I really like the idea of goblins that can actually build stuff hence, this actually looks like it could work and not fall apart. Cheers! ramble ramble ramble ramble

Alex, alex, I love you. Love love love!
These are awesome, great to see you tackling the different body shapes like you said.

The update before the last was KILLER! KILLER! I loved, frigin loved the full scene! Looked so sweet and tasty and I am dying to be doing some.

When you get msn, add me. It's an order

Oh by the way, start rendering. Just render in all your pencils right now, get in some nice lighting situations. Play with mood, have full blown out rendered pieces. Lay down lines first and move onto giving it form and light! It'll make everything so much more easier

Take care alex! (God I hope that's your name because I've been using it a lot)

Ha! The miniature you painted is just beautiful! I'm always amazed at the amount of detail you guys manage to cram into those things. Great work. Your process on this last one is interesting to see. The first one seemed so loose and messy but you're really tightening it up! Can't wait to see where you take it next. Great thread, man!

Your sketches are very impressive and it's great to see how hard you're working, very inspirational. My only suggestion would be to focus a bit more on your values for your paintings - try being more conscious of your light source and always remember to think in simple shapes when shading. Other than that, you're doing great.

    cheers man! looking good!
be careful with some of those highlights, I'm mainly thinking of the one furthest to the right, it seems to cover a round area where there's a flat straight surface going.
Yup.. I know, stupid as hell detail that I shouldn't even mind picking on sorry.

awesome sb you got here, metal fingers!
these models on the last page are awesome. and the way you painted it is just sick!!

good work on the last IDW as well. But I have to admit I liked the last version better for a few reasons:
in this update the walker looks a lot less balanced. with the core of its big bulky torso too far in the front it looks like it's tipping over.
    http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/1...lfingersop.jpg
I threw a few quick lines on an overpaint just to point out what I mean. Not sure how much sense my explanations make.
the green lines indicate the perspective that seems to be off with the new feet and the knee joints.
your green rim light looks a bit rushed as well.

But I love the scratches and rugged out look on the last update. the used metal look is well done! also the arm design itself is cool. although I'm missing the back one. even if he's stretching them backwards a bit I'd add an edge of it to see. might help the symmetry.
these comments are of course to be used with caution though, I'm pretty much the opposite of a robot/mech expert
    keep working it, mate!

hello mate. Some areas that were not sphericals you added the certain highlights and made them looks spherical. That reduced some of the construction but the more work you did , added more depth.

The mech looks really cool, just one thing though I think you should sharpen up the shadows as they get closer to the feet, shadows tend to get sharper as they approach the contact point. I also learned a cool new trick if you take a sampled brush and mess with the roundness setting you can create really nice textured ground planes really easy.
    keep up the awsomness.

Well I've been doing a bit of painting in a style I haven't done in a long time and I gotta say its a bit more relaxing then really focusing with rendering in light and all of that jazz. I wasn't going to post them but Defiledvisions liked them so I figured some of you guys might too! I also added a WIP of the mech, I think the direction its diverging too is a much better one. Cheers and thanks for stopping by!
