The concept art of kevin wynn beautiful/deadly

The theme is beuatiful and deadly and this is an continuation of it.

I plan to reimagine and illustrate some marvel and dc charcters in innovative ways.

I would love to work for marvel some day. At the moment I like concept art a lot

You need to work on understanding form. I suggest turning off the computer for a while and drawing with pencil and paper... Photoshop tricks are a distraction and you need to boost your core drawing skills.

Um... wow. I don't want to discourage you, but I don't really know where to begin. Just keep studying. Go back to basics, do lifedrawing and still lifes, study anatomy books and references, and for the love of Adobe stay away from Photoshop. It's a tool, not a crutch, and it will only expose your weaknesses if you try to rely on it.

    Particular things to note:
Your anatomy is made of silly putty. Study references and practice drawing figures in proportion.
If you want a highlight or a shadow somewhere, draw it, don't hope it'll draw itself. Yes, I mean do it the hard way. It's only hard until you learn how to do it right.
Use references as often as possible, your brain can only do so much.
Learn how to render. That means looking at 3d form, light and shadow, particularly reflected light.
Stay away from soft brushes, they look like mush if you haven't already mastered block shading.
All colors are relative. If you have a light source, it should be lighter than everything else, not just more yellow.

Most importantly; don't give up. Learn from crits, and don't take them personally, because they're not. If someone's smacking you upside the head, it's because they haven't given up on you. It's silence and platitudes you should be worried about. You sound like an enthusiastic guy, so just keep at it.

I can see you are passion but you need to slow it down, you need to learn how walk before you can run or fly.

You might need to calm down a bit and realize they were giving him information that he needs if he wants to pursue a career in art.

Conceptart isn't the place you go to if you want smoke blown up your butt and told how awesome you are if you are in need of experience.

I've myself had some critiques just as harsh and possibly harsher than the ones above and it's easy to get upset about it, but looking back they helped me to realize my errors. No matter how much I want people to appreciate what I want them to see, all they will see is my errors unless I correct them.

What the others have said is very true, and before I even read any responses I thought the same thing. OP needs to step back and work on his fundamentals quite a bit more. This will help him far far more than for us all to tell him how good he is and to keep it up.

IMO, he has some good ideas seems to have his head in the right spot. But seems to be skipping steps along the way to becoming a better artist as well as relying on a machine to hide his errors and make the art work.

    Anyhow, Kevin...
It's great that you're posting work, and it looks like you practice regularly, but I'm thinking you should take all these comments into account.

As it was put much more colorfully earlier, this is a place you come to for critique, so take it seriously. As for my advice, get some experience drawing from life, especially human figures, instead of going the route of digital ideations. Learn how to use some traditional media too.

And there is something to be said for people who know how to lead by example and through more POSITIVE means than telling dude "he needs to start over"

Imho you need to start over at being raised, you're obviously a poorly-raised person.
If this was meant for me I really can't comment other than to really feel bad for you to think and act like you do. I feel sorry for those that have to deal with you on a daily basis...../sigh

This will be my last response to you since I really don't care honestly.

I have zero arrogance in any way as I do not see myself as really all that good of an artist. I'm here to try and improve, just like the OP, and to become better you sometimes have to hear things that may seem harsh. Yes some of the posters were harsh, but they all basically spoke the same thing.

    Fundamentals

This is not a knock on him or anyone else for that matter. But without solid fundamentals you will have a very hard time getting better as your fundamental knowledge will hold you back. This is something I struggle with constantly, so when I said it it wasn't because I'm a pro and have a big head it's because it can really help out his art in the future.

You somehow took what I said as if I'm talking down to him and showing my ego as if I'm some type of master artist, it's the complete opposite. I'm learning and struggling to learn and only sharing information that has been repeated to myself many times already.

Since you have already decided to trash me and basically act as immature as possible, I'm sure you'll somehow see arrogance in this thread as well and find another reason to attack me.

    Good day to you sir.

Whoa. You need to calm down. Your attitude is no better, if not much worse.

I don't know if you guys have some personal beef but everybody's giving the same advice to the OP. Sometimes you gotta go back to the basics (and sometimes you have to learn the basics).
