    Some illustrations

Hey CA folks, it's been some time since I've posted anything here in the finally finished thread. I've been always very timid to post anything, being in awe, and somewhat intimidated to post anything close to so many great works posted here. CA.org and all the good people here helped me so much to improve last year. Crits/comments really appreciated!

    Here are some recent illustrations:

Hey man, you've got some really nice things going on in these pieces, in terms of storytelling, and mood. Your compositions are also working very well.

However, I think you could really, really benefit from doing some life drawings. Your anatomy is waaaay off in most places. You seem to have all of the right concepts in mind for your figures, but it looks like you have spent very little time observing how it all fits together.

I'm really digging the Devil from the Art Order entry.

    Keep it up!

They're very good illustrations, why are they not that popular in deviantart? You're much more popular in cghub. Are you working as freelance now?

I think you got the hardest part done. You have made interesting art. Each one has a story and intrigues me.

I agree with tyler, life drawing is a must for everyone but I would add that you should look at the gesture. Your figures seem confined and I think your art would benefit from utilizing gesture to create more dynamic poses and motion.

Keep up the good work I look forward to seeing the rest of the story.

@Tyler- Thanks, I agree, I'm having a hard time with anatomy indeed, I've been doing illustrations in more or less serious fashion only since last September, so a lot of things regarding figure are still difficult for me. But I'm constantly working on it.

@Zerdron, Thanks, I'm not freelancing at the moment, since a lot of requests I'm getting are of *spec work* type. So I'm working on my portfolio instead, to attract some sort of serious client.

@Joelb- Thanks, I'm glad that you think so, I should be probably doing a lot more of gestures than I'm doing now, probably the whole thing will get easier with practice.

Some chars I've been working on:

I agree with these guys! Your art is beautiful, and catchy, the anatomy needs to be taken more carefully! Keep it up

Wow! you've got so many nice pictures here! I think the sword on the first picture should be longer. it's too short for a man of his build

-Thanks- you're right- probably I should've given him something like axe or mace

Another update... it feels quite odd but I've become a professional artist- just finished my first large month long project as an in-house artist. Now it seems that all the years I've been practicing are starting to pay off... and all this could not be possible without kind help of Mr. Mentler and all the good forum folks here

Love the attitude of this character in the piece. I love the whole piece overall, it captures so much drama.

You are indeed a pro artist, they are great pictures but your characters from imagination could use some improvement.

Your work is great, but I think you could benefit from studying perspective a bit more. There's some perspective issues on a few of your posted works. Keep posting tho

your work has a strong impact but as already been said you should concentrate on foundations first, learn values, color theory, perspective and put a lot of effort in anatomy and figure drawings. the last piece is a big improvement from your previous works, did you use models as reference or is it all from head?
Keep up the good work you have great ideas and sense of storytelling in your pictures all you need is crank up those foundation studies... waiting for more for sure!

Hi, thanks- workin as full-time artist leaves me far too little time to work on studies, but despite that I still do manage to draw from life here and there.:0)
It's more about painting as much as possible for me at the present time, for foundations are dead without practical application.
I use a complicated approach, which is a mix of method inherited from my teacher, Kay Allen, and Mentler's figure system.
