Welcome back dude lol glad to see you back. Good that you'll be updating more now . I read your post on Paintmybrain and hes hasn't updated in a while. Can really say anything about the update, but I wouldn't really suggest using color pencils and sh!t, but thats just me lol. Try and do some still life drawings when you have time. The ribs looks really good, they are nice and clean. Anywho Happy Trails

    Thumbs up

Yo CyGear, glad to see you posting again! It's been so long since you posted; Diarum and me have already reached the levels of Sargent and Edgar Degas respectively.

LOL, seriously, though, hope to see you draw more everyday!
Make it a point to draw at least 1 - 2 hours daily; since you don't seem to have a full-time job, then it's at least 6 hours of drawing for you.

I've realized only recently that the more you draw, the more confidence your hand becomes (accuracy is another story).

    Now, keep up and draw!!!!

I don´t know much of tablets, but I have a wacom bamboo and it´s pretty good. I don´t know why people want bigger tablets, sensitivity I could understand, but why a bigger tablet, I don´t know...
Your drawings are looking really great.
If I can say one thing that served me is: Keep doing those figures. They look very good, keep drawing them in differente positions. It seems that the more one does of those, the better it gets. The trick is that you don´t notice, until one day you look back, and realize all you´ve done.
Great SB! Please keep drawing (but don´t forget to study)

    Portrait, Comic...etc.

    Hey Folks,
    there I am again.
I have drawn a portrait from a woman who was in a newspaper two days ago.
It have taken 1 1/2 hour to draw it and I think I have succeeded altough there are more or less serious mistakes in it.
I asked my mum who was at a school for art school in her youth and she said that the mouth would be a little bit too wide. What do you think?

Then a comic and random stuff.

Well I'll give you my up most honesty,
There is still a lot of mistakes in your stuff. the three big dumb people are off by a mile lol the arms are huge and the legs are really small. The portrait has a lot of problems the head itself is really flat. Hair looks good though. The eyes are not realistic, they are just football eyes, which is something you should break because its a nasty habit. Yes the mouth is wide. The mouth should line up with the pupils of the eyes. Your nose is also to wide, they should line up with the tear ducks. Remember that the eyes are half way between the top of the head and the chin. And her neck holy crap lol, looks like she has a tree trunk for a neck, you don't have to outline the face, it makes it look really flat. The ear also doesn't come down low enough, it should end at about the nose.
And just for the hell of it, the folds on the cloths are not very good.

Hope this helps I am trying to be constructionally critique (if that makes sense.) Just want out for these proportions and your stuff should come out a lot better. Hope this was not to hard.

Hey CyGear, thanks for visiting my SB!

    Re female portrait:

I'll respectfully disagree with my worthy colleague Diarum-- I think the eyes are reasonably effective. But, my crit would be the distance between the upper eyelid and the eyebrow-- too small-- there's a bit more space and structure in that region than you're showing.

The teeth would be more appealing if you lightened up the linework that delineates the spaces between the teeth and the lines of the gum line.

For the vertical measure, I'm not sure if her head is tilted forward slightly. That could account for the eye position that Diarum found to be off.

The collar's nice, but Diarum's right about the shirt folds being kind of weak.

Overall, a pretty solid study-- keep 'em coming!

I also agree with you KP (lol Kim Possible) the eyes are reasonably effective, but lean more to the football symbolic shape. It would be better to see without such heavy lines

    Hey mates,
    thanks for your honest criticism.
    Well,

    @Diarum:

I think your are right. I looked the portrait second time and all the mistakes you mentioned are right. I hadn't to line up the face and all this things. Thanks for your honest comment. I will do it better the next time. And the comic was just for fun. The three guys should look like gorillas.....

    @KP....(I like this abbreviation):

I was so happy when I finished the eyes and I thought they would be the best in my picture....but they aren't. After I have read you comments I remarqued that the hair is the best job I have done in this pic.

So I will do some studies...

    hey m8!
some hard critique here but over time hard critique is very useful. You just have to learn to take it the right way.

I honestly think that the portrait is overal good. Especially as you though the eyes and the hair. But there are as some other says some things to think about for the next one. I do think that the head seems a bit odd in the shape, it looks to long some how. And do try to cut down on the lines, her face can be defined with only shadows to not make it look flat.

I hope you dont take it hard, it is a good portrait and if you keep doing em youll be great you know.

    love here eyes

    aha

    Hey Brain,

    thanks for your comment.
Well, I'll try to create a realistic face only by admitting shades...
And I should read the book about self-portrait which I have lend 2 weeks ago in my school library.

Good job. Forget what I said before. Practice drawing forms learn how to use perspective every time you draw and then move on to tone and color.

My one bit of advice is to keep on drawing from life, and try to find some life drawing classes to practice anatomy.
You did two pages of anatomy study and then rushed off into making stuff up from imagination. If you do that it will always end up badly.
You need to wait a LONG time before starting your own stuff. I don't think that at your current stage it will benefit you as much as normal life drawing.

    Bump for CyGear and Kamber!
It's time to come back from Hamburg; I understand there's many hot chicks and big comfortable beds there there but drawing is more important!
