So here's the first lot of drawings, random stuff from my uni sketchbook. Most of it's for a beat 'em up I'm working on, the rest is just faff.

Here's an update, some digitals I've done recently (ish).

The first one I did over the summer, but it recently got me accepted for an open day at blitz studios (which I really didn't expect to happen) so I thought i'd put it up.

The others are quick scribbles i've done today, I might take the environment further. Hmm.

off to a good start with the sketches. you should do more of that pencil work.

for the last post, the leg on the girl looks a bit weird because it's bending at an awkward way and you shouldn't use the lens flare filter in photoshop. it doesn't look good. i think with that environment, you should sketch it out more like you did with the pencil drawings to see if you can come up with a better composition... i think adding color to it now would just make you lost.

good sketches as i said before, just keep at it and try to look at some references if you still need help.. i always do.
    I'm looking for work!

Thanks Shidoken for the advice, pencils are something I feel most comfortable with

Onwards! I know it's been aages since my last post, but I've been mega-busy with some motion capture and maya animation for uni, a lengthy and unpredictable process. I have, however, been going to some life drawing classes for the past few weeks so I guess I'll start with some of that...

Oh, and I did some more designs on the robot in the earlier post, and made a nice big A2 drawing

And here's the finished concept, although it'll probably change when I start modelling

    Some WIP's

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated. I keep getting told to start the soundbot, so it's coming soon...

In the meantime, thought i'd throw these two in the mix, the first is a pencil study from a flyer I got the other night (apologies my scanner is shit). The second is a level concept for the aforementioned beat 'em up, still a WIP also.

Heh, it's been aaaages since my last update!
Graduated in Computer game design at swansea, then did some pretty high intensity 3d work at a local game/software studio, man that stuff takes it out of you! Went in with no xp and had to learn all of it on the job, paid off though

So I'm trying to save up and go to canada for a year! Woot! So I really need to practice practice practice my 2D, it lacks somewhat...

So onwards! Here's some fresh art!
A quick gesture study and a longer portrait thing from pictures and a WIP with a very badly drawn face.

Here are some pencils, I don't have access to a scanner over here, so excuse the naff photos, tried to fix levels in photoshop, some came out better than others

I just went through your sketchbook and I have to say: Very cool things, especially human drawing seems so simple in your pictures. You have a very sure line in all of your works. Keep going on! : D

Thanks everyone for your comments, much appreciated

I have been quite busy working all week in a call centre, which is quite soul destroying, so not much time for doing art.
These two are from a spare few hours I had today completely from my head, the first is really a warm-up character/costume design thingy.

A nice long update, mostly biro scribbles done at my day job whilst waiting for people to pick up the phone so I can sell them a bullshit digital cable box.

It's free for six months! Take it!!

Oh and the biro was blue, which came out as a nice grey after a ninja scanning session (I don't think I was supposed to be scanning on the job, heh) which also explains the very shitty quality.
I had to get it all scanned in a few minutes without getting busted by the management...

Hopefully there isn't long left of this fucking boring (but well paid) job, so I can concentrate on creative development once more.

    Comments always welcome!
    Peace, eh!

Hehe nothing like a boring job to spur the imagination ah? Love the variety of these sketches. Oo I recommend pillaging the work printer as much as possible too; A1 plotter prints from after work sell well on Ebay as I recall.....
