Aurélie Neyret (aka Clochette) - Character Design & Illustration - Available Now!

    buy: http://www.payloadz.com/go?id=1227311
    trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vL3Bc84vWfA

    ---
In this two part download, Aurélie Neyret (Clochette) demonstrates her approach to character design and illustration. She begins by sketching two characters for a children's book. She explains her choices and thought process throughout the first part of the tutorial, letting the viewer in on all the questions she keeps in mind while creating coherent and enjoyable characters.
The second part is about the illustration itself, using the characters created in the first part. It shows how Aurélie builds her picture from an early rough to the final illustration, and tackles different points such as the importance of story telling, mood, colors, and expression. This download is simple and joyful, with a tasty surprise waiting for you at the end!

    ---

She continues to develop her personal work in her free time, and also takes part in several collective art projects, shows, and art books.

Wow.. bought this a good 2-3 weeks ago. I am ashamed that I haven´t had time to watch it yet. Discovery on demand, school and work has been keeping me busy. Will try to watch it as soon as possible and post a little (perhaps big) comment about it!

Carnifex, yes I believe they did, think I read it somewhere. I really liked that idea, going to the artist to get a recording

Ok! This download was extremely enjoyable. A huge plus for all the illustrators who are even remotely considering to going anywhere near children's illustrations. Or even for anyone who is interested in checking out a totally different style. This download was a total win win for me. I have had a crush on Clo´s art for quite some time, stalking her sketchbook but never commenting. Finally I got to see her in action. Like I said, extremely enjoyable.

The voice recording was really great. I was actually amazed on how quiet it was, no background static at all. Recording was also smooth and I actually liked the fact that she was talking whilst painting. Then we kind of got her ideas there and then as she was at it, instead of a later voice-over recording. (though that has NEVER bothered me.)
The process was great, and she totally nailed it. Her story really got out there, and thought the characters were simplistic, they were/are loveable and believable!

Carnifex : Yup, Aaron aka MassiveDVD did it! He came to France to film Véronique and me. He even got stuck at my place for one more day because of the snow! =) I hope you'll like the video!

Hive_minD : Thank you very much for your feedback, it's great to know what you think! Yeah i had the choice between recording while drawing, or after. Talking while painting sounded better for me, this way i was able to talk about the points i went through while i was doing the illustration. It's quite hard to have something to say all the time, but it was more natural, at least for me! Thanks again!

i'm only through with the first part, but i have to say that one was magical already. it reminded me of some of the more important parts in designing characters again,f.ex. the shapes working together. i was quite surprised at some choices (in a good way,f.ex. how you chose the colours) and giggled quite often so far,i recommend it to everyone. i'll come back to you on part two.
    thank you for now!

first, download VLC (search google) then put .srt file in same folder as the movie file itself. If the name files are the same, then it should load automatically when you play the video file in VLC. Meaning that the files should be:

    cloillustration.mp4
    cloillustration.srt

Now, the file name doesnt HAVE to be identical, but its easier seeing it should go automatically. If it doesnt, then you play the moviefile in vlc, video -> subtitle track -> open file -> select .srt file that belongs to the movie filme.

Was that understandable? Should work on both mac and windows (I use both).
    Just ask if not.
