    Scimok's sketchbook! Updated often!

Hello. I'm Scimok. I am 16 (17 now) and from Britain.

I have been trying to improve at drawing for 7 or 8 months, but prior to now haven't really felt confident enough to make a sketchbook here. I've been doing Bridgman studies for a while and more recently I have been reading Andrew Loomis' books.

To start, I'll post some relatively recent master studies, anatomy studies, drawings and a digital painting of my computer desk.

Critique is very much welcome and wanted! I'll post as often as I can!

Edit: Original images from this post in second post.

I've been painting some environments for the first time.

A desert, a mountain and a very quick sunset, all of which are pretty heavily referenced.

Edit: Moved images from first post into this one

Pixie Trick: Thank you, I certainly will try to!
The Exon: I'll try to! Here are some more, in fact!

Some anatomy studies from Bridgman and Bammes, a few doodles and a pretty quick robot I painted yesterday from my imagination that looks odd (I need more practice painting machines, and more with perspective as well!).

xbrianx: Thanks, I'll certainly be doing more environmental studies. They're far more relaxing to me than painting people.

CocaTertoka: Thank you very much. I will!

Icedearth15876: Glad to see they're helping me! Thank you very much!

Only two images today. Some arm studies from Bammes and a drawing I did to see how much, if anything, I've learned from my studies.

Some good work you are doing here!

I really like the arm studies, the little bit of grey tone you added gives them some nice depth!

Thanks for the post on my sketchbook. Keep up the good work, I want to see more!

Greyskill: Thanks, I was hoping the grey would have that effect.

Inishmore: Thank you very much, out of the three that's my favourite, too.

HTML rulez d00d: Thank you very much, I should get back to doing more
    painting from life.

Two quick things today. What is possibly the world's worst Rembrandt study (I am certain I could do better with more time and effort. I will reattempt this when time is not constrained) and a quick drawing to test a pose. It's supposed to be of a man holding a cigarette, it turned out more effeminate than I had hoped, which I am sure is due to the positioning of the hip and hand.

Trying to improve my pencil drawing a bit more. I need to do more work on the basics, my shading and anatomy are still severely lacking. Again, critiques are very welcome.

A Rembrandt study. I seriously messed it up, but I think I got the expression on his face right, which is a first.

Still working on facial anatomy. I haven't had masses of time to paint recently, so it's been slow going.

unnamed.device : Thank you so much, that is hugely encouraging.

A photo study. I should have paid more attention to the face, I was concentrating too much on the back.

Edit: A few faces I painted, too.

Bel696: Yeah, I may well reattempt that study, it's too good a painting of Rembrandt's not to have another go at it.

Nlete: I can't disagree, I was trying to push the contrast, but I think I went a touch too far with it.
    PermaN00b: Thank you very much!
greyskill: I've been trying to post often! Thank you for stopping by yet again!
ReefFrog: I certainly won't quit drawing, I've put too much time into it now.
    DeeStar: Thank you!

A painting I did from life, a doodle I finished more than usual, a very quick environment to work on my composition and a few sketches, partly from Bammes.
