Aww, cute rabbit at the beginning x3
These are all really great, they're just sketches but the seem complete anyway even with the unfinished bits. Is there any particular approach you have to the figure? I really love the sense of weight and emotion you get in the figure and I'd love to know how you go at it![]()
I have nothing interesting to say but here's my sketchbook, perhaps you'll think I've drawn something interesting XD http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=167964
Like strange1900 said; great sense of weight and emotion! I would love to be able to draw humans like you. The Deviant in your last post is really... smashing!
strange1900 & Khanran - Thank you both for the kind words. I'm not sure what you mean by emotion - are you referring to the facial expressions or the general mood of each image?
As for weight I try and vary the thickness of the line - using a heavier thicker line for the underside of things or where one form intersects another helps give a bit of volume, as do core shadows - have you guys read up on those yet? The last three pics are from photographic reference so I was able to take my time with them.
Khanran - My deviant friend will be happy to hear you like the pic
WIP of my avatar, any helpful advice on colouring/lighting/texture/anything else would be much appreciated.

I need to work on my tones a bit more, perhaps I will come back to this one. Below are some more inky doodles.

Very very nice... nice technique, and very controlled. But the control also makes your drawings seem a bit too clinical and a teensy bit stiff here and there.. I'd like to see something a bit more loose sometimes.. But great work so far.Digging your figuredrawings the most. Not a big fan of tattooey tribal-art.
Softskin - thanks for the advice, I do get a bit anal about being neat which I think does slow me down. I think I need to do some more life drawing, working form pics is good but it does mean I can dawdle.
The "tribal" stuff is what I draw as a warmup or just something to get me producing something when I can't think of what to draw.
Here is an updated wip of the robot, I spent a few hours after work working on it, any pointers about colour/lighting/design (I'm a little dubious about how he would twist and bend at the waist) would be much appreciated.
Cheers!![]()
Spent 50 mins over lunch on these - started the rocket boot smoke from scratch with reference, and reworked the hands on the robot a little.
Very nice start. I especially like the stuff at the beginning. Definitely one to watch!
Very nice work! your anatomy sketches are great! I love that they have great form without relaying on budging muscles. Cant wait to see more!

Great figure drawings!
Some more noodleing on this, think I need work on some other stuff for a day or two and come back to it. Any pointers are more than welcome.
Awesome robotics, some ambien light and bounced lights to add more color to add variation in that green would be nice. Great work.![]()
The sketch of the thick chick staring out the window in the thong is easily my fav of yours. nice stuff man. the bunny is also really great too. my wife loves it.

First drawing from the TAD figure class, still finding my feet with pastels, never really used pastels before this - the first time was on Sunday for two hours, then at life drawing on Tuesday.
15 - 20 mins

Some more figure drawings from the TAD. Also a quick thumbnail of a spaceship, which I might trace and rework a little if I have time.

Amazing drawings from life and from imagination. The figure drawings are really stunning, (I learned some things while looking at yours) You have an understanding of volume and line sensitivity. Great work man, keep it up.
I'm out to conquer the world equipped with a pencil, digital paint and a Sketchbook
and when I do achieve that goal...I'll conquer the moon too![]()

sanakris - thanks very much man.
Its been too long since my last update, here his a logo I'm working on (with more to follow soon).
Some sketches from observation.
For your rocket boots, I think if you could do a combo of the old and new smoke it would be best, the new smoke looks great in the lower left hand region, but the trailing gray cloud-like smoke on the earlier ones is really cool.
Been a while since I did some airbrushing, so I used this as my test subject![]()
