    Blackest black paint?

Hello there CA. So it happens that i want to paint an extremely black object using traditional media, and i've discovered that some blacks arent that black at all...now i'm aware that an artist can employ many various tricks to make a black object blacker by using optical fenomena(sp?), but nontheless, i'm curious what is the paint with the lowest brightness/luminosity/insertrightterm. Any help wpuld be greatly appreciated, cause i'm totally in the dark on that one, and can't seem to find much practical info on my own.

    Ivory sarcastic high-contrast black.
Won't find anything darker than that.

50%lamp black 50% paynes grey makes a soooooper black black. using or glazing transparent black on top of that will make it even blacker.

I combine lamp black and dioxazine purple for a similar effect.

Mars Black - they quarry it from the event horizon of the black hole at the centre of our gallaxy.
    Its also very opaque.

Side by side, mars black isn't as low in value as carbon blacks like ivory, lamp, or vine.
How black a paint appears is also a function of its surface and the clarity of the binding medium. Glossy blacks will be able to go lower in value than dull or matte ones, and oil or resin based based paints can go lower than acrylics or other emulsions.

Thank you all for the replies, that's exactly the type of concrete information i was looking for.
Especially the matte vs glossy bit was something i wasn't aware of. Well, on to the art suppliers!
