Still life WIP:
freehand environment craziness. This is my favorite way of developing ideas. I'll throw them all out there and resolve the ones that I like most

Updated many images with better photos of the paintings after they have been varnished.

It's good to see that you've sold your paintings in etsy. It's hard for me to sell painting even in digital. I'm not a popular artist and my style is not embraced by the masses. I just don't know when I can work freelance...nice oils by you anyway and may more art to come.
holy crap these are great! beautiful colours all round!
Only thing I noticed is that your construction (well there's only 1 image that shows it) is very 2D... you map things out accurately on the canvas but don't define their shapes in 3D space, if that makes sense. It's great for observational drawing (similar to using a grid) but can get a bit tricky later on.
then again, there's only 1 example of it, and I might be overanalysing.. it's late. it's just what i noticed looking at the 2nd and 3rd hand, they look a bit flat :p
still, very awesome stuff
zerdron - it's all about getting your name out there alongside your very best paintings. It takes a lot to stand out on the internet, whether it's etsy, ebay or conceptart.
NeonDuck - thanks, construction and drawing are my biggest weaknesses
A quick rose study before I figure out how to make a more finished still life painting:

Hey Dylan,
Thanks for stopping by! I don't think I've met Geoffrey but I think he and I are both attending the Summer 2010 program at Studio Escalier. That's great to see you are applying to go too, I can't recommend Tim and Michelle highly enough![]()
Yeah I've been sticking to still lifes for a while, but you're right, I should be doing imaginative work too. I'll see what I can come up with today.
