This new post certainly has potential ( as all the others WIP shots have done so in the past ! )

Anxious to see what the outcome will turn into.

i like where post 841 is going that guy has some nice negative shapes going on, although i think the composition would work a little better if we was slightly of center right now he looks way to centered in the middle of the page.

you guys always make my day

NickyBeats not quite there yet but man i had a bright grin on my face as I read your comment

Dile_ same here ^^ need to browse through your SB , thanks for dropping by ! ^^

Velocity Kendall thank you ! means the world to me !

Medusoid thanks ^^ but as I said before I am not yet that confident and I compare my stuff almost every day to those who already work at wizards and its worlds apart. I have still a lot of practice ahead of me before I could even imagine to try to compete against those guys - not to forget I could name at least 10 people that I know around here if they would try to get that job and I had to race against them I would loose ^^ ....

theUNKNOWNsketcher that is nice of you ! thank you a lot !

    prsnsweeney better ? -->

The way you build up your pieces is interesting, it seems like a very natural progression however and the outcome is good

Very cool stuff man. I love all the delicious details, like that metal armour on the boar and the snow capped tops of those rocks in the latest enviro. Just awesome. You're able to put out very finished looking pieces which is a big advantage.

What still botheres me a bit is that your images tend to be very dark, many times too dark. Low key could be a conscious choise from you, but I still feel that makes the images bit heavy to watch, at least on my screen. Many of these lack clear focal points for the eye to settle and rest on. For example in that blue ranger image I want to see his face but the bright values in the background keep pulling my eye away and making viewing the image feel bit uncomfortable. I don't think you wanted the emphasis to be in the background. So I would try to think bit more about focal points and push the values in the important places to get better read and impact.

I admire the mood and drama in your work, though I agree with ismo on the lighting in some of your work - I feel like some things like the faces in the two characters on this page could use more contrast than the rest of the image. Also I feel some parts could do with some brighter values in places like the top of the armour on the orc and the helmet of the marine on the last page. I love the texture detail on the rocks and ground in the last piece, I think some more of that in focal areas in your work will help a lot too

NickyBeats too freakin cool man ! thanks ! btw I looked for a decent pic of yours in the " what does everyone look like" thread but they all are quite small would be an honour to make a portrait of you send me a good pic !

    Odayga

    TFsean thank you ^^

    Fallenangel thanks man ^^

prsnsweeney indeed colours are the only thing I am progressing in ^^ thank you !

ismo first of all : thank you ! focal points are one of my weakest spots because they would involve some kind of planning on my side as most of my stuff just evolves out of a mashup of different colours its hard to do that , my composition skills are very poorly developed ^^

Gadbury thanks! ^^ and yeah basically the same I said to ismo is true here ^^

    Charmer danke man ^^

    Fetsch thanks ^^

soooooo back from a long break , laziness a lot of games ( namely : Spacemarine, Battlefield 3 and Skyrim ) plus the fact that my semester break ended got me away from painting ...mainly it was laziness ... so trying to do more from now on again .

see you and thanks for the comments !

I can't believe I haven't been here since page 16! This is the type of thread the makes me ask "why the fuck am I sat here doing this?? Fetch me my gear, I'm doing a drawing!"

I adore your pencil work. I'm a sucker for unfinished WIP's that get abandoned at the sketch stage. There's something natural about them. Like if you carry on you'll ruin it. Either that or i'm scared to move on to the colour stage! Anyway your sketch style reminds me of Jes Goodwin's who did alot of warhammer art. His book truly amazing if you ever come across it (mine got stolen!!)

Anyways, keep on rocking dude. Always a pleasure.

PS I did steal your signature idea in the end, didn't come up with anything spectacular, but it kinda worked. I'm lost with PS too so that didn't help!!
If at first you don't succeed...redefine success!!
