I agree. The leg looks a bit weird. But the rest of that picture looks great. I really like the horses face and eyes. Go forward!

Hey people ... here is a more comprehensive shout out ... thanx for the visit.
@ tasser - Thanx, really happy you like the wizard doodles. regarding the leg problem ... damn right, I see what you guys are saying. I will try and fix!
@ snootchy - Thank you! Glad you think that was a bit better. I like the way that came out. Will endeavor to add them lines to my tool box. Thanx a lot.
@ Eddieee - Thanx, glad you like the whacked concept. Dr Moreau would approve ... hehehe. Thanx for noticing the volume. I started out concentrating on contours more (like most of us I guess). Now it kind of stuck in my head and my style to use my love for crosshatching to help add form.
@ zaorr - Hey man! Glad to see you are still active here! Your SB is coming along really well! That image was scribbled at Spur while indulging in a cup of coffee ... might indeed have been Monday. But then again everyday for an hour or so after waking up is a Monday to me ... hehehe
@ N E X T - Thank you kindly! glad you like. I have a 'wizard sketch challenge' over at the forum I frequent so I'm a practicing the wizards! - Not to mention the DA Realm of fantasy Competition!
@ Metal Fingers - Glad you like the doodles. I really like doing them above all else. Thanx for noticing the leg problem on the the wizard on horseback pic. I thumb sucked the whole thing on the fly where as I usually make thumbnails of an image to work out some compositions and anatomy. This time I just went into hoping for the best ... hehehe. I can see the issue and Ill try fix it up asap. I didn't consider that whole area where the leg joins the torso ... there is no form there at all, but ill see what I can do. Thanx again!

Since I'm going to turn this bugger into a painting I have done the alterations that will hopefully help solve the anatomical leg issue as well as explain my direction for this image. It took a lot of editing, adding and blundering but I'm OK with the outcome for now at least.

coooooooooooool! the last one is so great!
WOW, that last piece is awesome! stoked to see it finished!
wicked mate, i digg the wizard, really cool design!
I think this is ur best sketch posted to date, because it has a mixture of the gestural as well as some tighter lines, good variation!
Only crit on it is that there are some things off with the proportion or the perspective of the horse, i'm not exactly sure but I don't think you'd see much of that rear end of the horse from that perspect or it seems a bit small for the overall form. Good news is if your planning on taking this to a finish painting, I think this is way more than enough of a sketch to paint. Looking forward to seeing this one finished!!
Thanx for the comments people!
@ LAL - Thanx a lot, really glad you like
@ Lang Oulk - I'm really happy with this one, but it wasn't finished. I am doing this for two reasons ... first for a Legion Ink sketch challenge, secondly I'm hoping to carry on with it for the Realms of Fantasy painting competition over at DA ... that is if I have the time to finish. It has to be finished of pretty detailed for the challenge ... which I really dont mind coz I sure like to noodle while I doodle ... hehehe
@ snootchy - I'm stoked that you like this one, having loads of fun doing it. As much fun as this one is its been plaguing me with hurdles (might be the very reason I'm enjoying it so much). I always take your advice ... crap thing is that I only read your comment when I have taken it to this level. Like I explained above, it has to be finished of quite detailed for the challenge so that it can be painted by someone (if it wins that is). I have done some changes which seem to have helped the over all image though. I still think the horse's head is too big ... and I have reduced it in size a few times already. Anyway, Ill work on it a bit more when I add the other elements for the DA competition. As always thanx a mill for the feedback!

Nice work on that last one. Just don't forget to mirror stuff, so you could if it skewed or not. Cheers!

looking a lot better, i really like your hatching a lot, it has a nice movement over the forms!
Thanx people ...
@ Seraph Fawkes - thanx ... I keep forgetting to do that! and its really great advice!
@ tasser - Glad you like. I like what you are doing with the mage. all the extra work will really pay off ... it all takes time, progress is usually related to patience. ;P
@ pixel cheetah - Hehehe ... I will not forget. Glad you like.
@ snootchy - Thanx ... I like curving lines. most of the hatching I see is really stiff and make an image look really rigid and lifeless.
Here are 3 pics
- a colour doodle of a vamp like dude character study.
- an update to where I'm planning to take the Wizard sketch. there has been some edits done to the horse. I had some great advice given to me that the horse is to wide/fat and so I have made the changes fro the better!
- a doodle sheet containing some ideas for the SiFied wizard sketch.
As always, I hope you people like.

You've been busy! I really like the coloring on this one and the shaded wizard pic looks great! Look out for making the composition too crowded though. Also, being that close to the left border, some lines on the wizard like the staff, cape and other flowing lines formed by the clothes and horse's tail lead the eye out of the picture IMO. Right now, the wizard and horse, the robot and weird plant on the background kind of compete of importance but this may change with coloring of course.
By the way, I think the chest of the horse looked more solid when it was wider. Anyway, great job so far and looking forward to seeing where it goes.![]()
Cool man Im really digging the last illustration progress. and the ship thumbnails.
digging the shapes in the last post, like to see more exploration into some ID stuff, cuz u have some interesting ideas and shapes at play in that last sketch! keep up the goodness!

I agree with Rotor, that piece is friggin METAL man, so sick. I love the hatching technique you use to render the piece. Can't wait to see more!
Hello, hello!
I adore those creatures and zombies you've been coming up with and your pictures are very expressive, so keep up the good work! :'D
Nice updates; I really dig the piece with the horse - Very dynamic composition and well drawn. Looking forward to seeing how it progresses.

Amazing detail on that wizard painting. Is it going to be black and white or are you planning to color it?
Hey there people ... thanx for the comments ... will do a shout out soon.
Bombur ... now that you ask ..
I haven't posted a colour WIP ... so here we go. This sucker is going to be detailed so it will still take a few more days to finish but this is where I'm at at the moment. hope you enjoy

Damn dude.. your stuff is so blinding! I think I'll just go pack away my pencils and go home now. Lol. Have fun with the detailing and such, the colour sketch is kicking some serious ass.
Thanx people ... here is a native size crop of the image (1000X1000) ... the detail is taking up a whole lotta time. But I'm loving it and I'm sure Ill get there soon, I'm almost finished.
This section is finished so there will be no more noodling done to this.

Holy shit, when I saw the first sketch I did not expect this turning into a robot alien wizard mesh up! Crazy. YOu have mad rendering skills - I guess this isn't finished yet, right - everything looks great so far. I just think the glow on the horses butt is a little too much (shiny butt! ;-))

Holy shit! Dude you are really really good. I mean - hey you're at page 5 now and that thing looks like where I wanna go in about a half year, you did it in less time. F*CK. You are crazy, like the colours very, very much.

Wow, the painting looks stunning! I was sure wrong with my critique about the composition. =P I had just done some reading about it and was overenthusiastic about the subject I guess. In color it looks great. Great colors and detail and love those fluid strokes!
Damn this is a very awesome sketchbook! That horse is looking gorgeous. The idea/narrative is epicI just love it![]()
