Now im considering rimlight on this here henchman. Any ideas? should he have a gun? shovel? a bowl of milk for the boss-cat? It has to be henchman-like. He is a up-and-coming henchman, fighting his way through the ranks, only to one day kill his boss and become the new supervillain. Then he needs to find himself a nemesis. Im drawing his boss and his nemesis on ze paper now.
    You're welcome!

The rim lit could work well, give a little bit more color variation to a predominently cool pallette (which isn't by any means a bad thing)

The bowl of milk for the boss cat sounds cool! Ha Ha Maybe he's one of those henchman that serves as the boss's personal assistants like celebrity's have? He makes do him do all these mundane chores like carrying around kitty litter and having to accompany the cat to manicures! He's disgruntled because the cat lives a better live then him and all the other henchman! :p

I am thinking since he has a diagnal strap possibly trying to do something with a backpack. It might push the silhouette if that's something you'd want.

The goggles and bundled up turtle neck definitely makes me feel that this guy is a henchman guarding some facility or compound located in a very cold area. An addition of a gun might be good. I would possibly toy around with the idea of a headset and turning the visor into something that projects data from other henchman and home base so he is in contact with them.

You may want to experiment with refining the left side of his arm. You should probably take that with a grain of salt as it seems to work pretty well right now so that may just be a personal choice, it could work either way.

    Good job!

    Traveler: Thanks!
    Tigermilk: Thanks!
zweiDee: Yeah, ill mess around with stuff he can put in his hand.
humza: Now im getting the feeling this henchman is more of a middle-management henchman. Ive given him an assistant, whose got some cloth to conceal parts of his face to preserve the identical nature of these lower henchmen. This lower henchman will be carrying ducks trained to fly into jetengines in some sort of contraption, maybe a bag.

Id imagine this middle-management henchman throwing bread into a barrel painted as a jetengine with a stereo playing jetengine-sounds to train the ducks to fly into the barrel. The perfect evil plan to bring down airplanes.

    More stuff.

Fantastic pieces.. I really like the crime-syndicate you're building here. Somehow I get the feeling the lower-ranked guy is the higher ranked because of the seemingly heavier kevlar he is wearing. The more I think of it though, I get the feeling that he is just a regular foot-soldier while the guy to the left is more undercover and interesting. So yeah, never mind
This is just me, but you could give a logo to the syndicate with some way of showing ranks. Though it's kinda stupid to have a logo for your underground organization.. kinda beats the point of being anonymous, thank you hollywood.

Can't wait to see the boss and what else you've got in mind!

Wr00m: Nowadays yes. I used to photoshop on top of pencilsketches, but the process took too long. Now i do almost everything digitally.

DefiledVisions: Yeah i shrunk his armor. I got a logo, yep. Its for HDOUBLEH, two Hs on top of each other. Its faintly visible on the left guy.

    palladium:Thanks!

Traveler: Will do, gotta scan em with my feeble scanner tho.

    Q: Thanks!

Anatomy is kinda of on the middle one though...That is a shame. Could you recomend some good tutorial in zbrush and 3d max? I really wanna learn the basics, so that I can play around with that sort of thing as well

Mischeviouslittleelf: Thanks! Yeah i gotta fix that wonky anatomy, i got sidetracked with getting the faces looking good. Regarding zbrush, ill pm you, cause it would take a while for me find the links to good tutorials. Its a long time ago since ive watched that stuff.

So heres a wip of the entrance to HQ where the ducks get trained. Kinda amusing if the ducks hang around this backalley, silently observing your every move.

Love the harsh edges in the early character design + tree, your loose style is very expressive. A few pieces could benefit alot from some sharpening or more definition to change of surface.

Loving it so far. Watching ;D

    lichunlei: Thanks!

Jangmai: Thanks! Yeah, I have a tendency to go for silouette and "ignore" surfacechange. Recently been switching to crosshatching for rendering. Never really done a lot of it in the past, but now i see that its an excellent tool to define surfacechanges.

krel: Thanks! The blue skulls are pretty awesome yeah. I sat around for weeks just drawing skulls. Those were my favs.

    Janos: Thanks!

    Fumble: Thanks!

    Lotet: Thanks!

Cam Sykes: Thanks! Yep they will be fleshed out further.

Mischeviouslittleelf: Thanks! Helpful as allways. Hope youll come back here now and then with some critique.

    Tugelbend: Thanks!

Still wip'ing this one. It seems lame to have these guys wielding ducks. I guess they get streetkids to handle ducks for them. Streetkids coming up later, wielding ducks!

    AG.: Thanks!

    humza: Thanks!

GEB: Thanks! Yeah jealousy sucks, but can be useful too.

I heard this tip from Todd McFarlane, he used it himself: If you want to feel progress, measure yourself up against someone who is a bit better than you , then bust ass to get better than them. This made it easier for him to see his own progress, compared to constantly comparing himself to the greatest comicbook-artists out there. Anyone tried this?

    Some characters, gogogo draw!
