skeeeeeeeeeeeeetches
REALLY REALLY ROUGH ONES, haha.
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sun_(Tarot_card)
An infant rides a white horse under the anthropomorphized sun, with sunflowers in the background.
The child of life holds a red flag, representing the blood of renewal while a smiling sun shines down on him, representing accomplishment.
A. E. Waite suggested that this card is associated with attained knowledge. The conscious mind prevails over the fears and illusions of the unconscious. Innocence is renewed through discovery, bringing hope for the future.
Plus, The Sun story
I'm mainly going with the horse, child + banner of life + stylized sun or crazy sun patches.
I like the Top Left one the best ittybittybeast.

Here is my interpretation of the "Death Tarot Card"
I will be revising this version allot, it is more of a rough draft.
The picture below might be one of my many drafts, not sure yet
...still need to add many symbolic items in the picture yet.
Some reference links to the Death card story I am using:

I'm diggin' basic idea for Death, Slingshot! I'm not sure exactly what's going on but it's still rough so we'll see~
another sketch for The Sun
Queen of Cups rough sketch of ideas... More like idea. Since we're going for a Nordic feel to it, I'm using Idun, Goddess of Youth and Spring... apples seem to be her signature, but I also might use some of the Prose Edda for extra symbolism and reference.

Here's some Norse Mythology references to the sun that might be useful.

A border template for our cards... uh, which is totally revisable. I literally whipped this up in 10 min, and part of that was trying to remember how Illustrator worked, haha.
The center is obviously all for the piece, and I figured the border template could be a darken or lighten filter for extra central focus, as well as accenting the design.
I also left an area at the bottom for the tarot card script.![]()
ps: Let's redesign this at the upcoming Art Jam. I was looking at some old school Anglo-Saxon architecture and inspiration but it's def not noticable.

Here's an uber rough sketch. Working on the layout of the entire card. Using the Nordic goddess Frigg as reference. Goddess of marriage, childbearing or something...also can forsee the future.
ugh, already see some things I missed but my eyes are burning. I'll get them later. T_T
revamped The Sun (Daghr).
instead of red flag, I gave him a red scarf and a flute to play with. Also, (obv) I combined the horse + boy = boytaur.
Since we're running low on time... hahaha.... T_T main reference for the boy: http://auroradreams.deviantart.com/a...le-21-90743175
