dwinbotp : First of all let me say I'm pleased to see you've modified your original "death" : this version is much more interesting to me. The horse's skull, horns, done away with the hood. I like it, quite like the direction you've taken with the armour as well. Much prefer it hehe.
The reason I am posting though is that I see anatomy issues popping out that seem to be hindering me from appreciating the piece fully. So I thought I'ld try and mention them, help make this pic kick ass. But then figured the easiest way would be to do a quick paint over to show you what I meant 'cause lingo ain't always the clearest or easiest way to go. Hope you don't mind.
Ok what jumps out at me the most at the moment is how short the horse-body is and how the hind legs are placed in a fashion/angle that to my eye don't match up with the front part of the "horse". It feels short and twisted, with the ass popping to far out and the knees clinging together in a manner unbefitting Death hehe *I've drawn up a quick pose in pink that I think might work (but there are probably loads of variations you could come up with).
Also, the muscles on the front of the horse don't seem to be aligning just quite right down the center line. The human navel seems to be just slightly to our right when compared the center of the human rib-cage and to the center of where the horse muscles should line up. It's not a major issue but following his contours it feels slightly off at the moment, to me at any rate. Also his right shoulder (to our left) might be a little off under that armour but I think that's just the way I read it : the armour hides most of that arm so it all boils down to how I interpret what might be under there. *I put all of this in light blue.
And my last comment is more a question of personal taste I suppose, since who is to say what centaur-like creatures would really look like right ? Basically I find the human part of the character to be a touch too large for the horse part. If you compare his forearm to the front legs for instance it starts seeming slightly ungainly to me. Of course I also understand that the interesting part to work on is probably the top part, and that by making it larger you get to draw more attention to it so I don't think this is a major issue.
Hope you don't mind me goin' over your piece. And that some of this helps !!![]()
Thanks Rambozo for taking the extra time to do a paintover on it. I'm really grateful and it shows a lot of good points. On the flip side, my Death piece is already finished...a few weeks back, hehehe. and mostly the fault lies with the lighting in front for the alignment and the horse refs i chose was too fat to start with hahaha, but it fits the purpose i was going for in the first place. Too many times we see the Death card as a knight in black armour riding the pale horse, this spin is just my sweet way of changing itI hope when we finally post the final ones with our frames in, they all look just a tad bit better. Many thanks man! See you on the finish line

Hadn't even visited this tread yet, there's some great art here. Especially liked your initial sketches on page 1. It's so cool to see the various stages that these works go through.

Really good! You inspired me! I have a feedback for you on the last one. The head looks really small you must take care of the proportions more. Otherwise I like some of the initial designs more than the finished like the Centaur - Death. It is superb! Very artistic look on them. The Athmosphere is incredible. I am a fan! Go go guys you have a talent!

- came from Inca's DA.
I'm very impressed by your guys' work, and am looking to commission artists for a gaming company.
However, I noticed Artofinca's commission slots are closed and wanted to know if you guys are available as a team.
Loving the tarot designs btw, seriously awesome.
