few new stuffs and a scribble
few new stuffs and a scribble
Nice studies man! Keep at it. I fell like you could turn the last picture of the man with the staff into something amazing. Keep on workin away!
Great updates dude. You are showing lot of progress now.
Btw, I recommend you scale down your images in PS or something. Its kinda annoying to scroll just to see one drawing. Scale it down so that we can look it better.
Looking forward to more !
your line quality has become much more cleaner and lesser scribbles, awesome. Keep doing more and yah scale the picture a bit down next time.

Thanks Guys. Here are some new stuffs. And Yeah I've scaled it down
Few acrylic paintings
Did you paint those from real objects or a picture?
Try and get those still life drawings as accurate as you can before you paint them..
Work on more still life paintings buddy, can't tell you enough of how useful they are for later.. With time you'll find that apples have a lot more colours than red.. Like you'll find that they have yellows and greens in them (and watch out for the light/colours reflected off the table or the wall or the bowl or, you get the gist).. Getting good results in traditional painting would take awhile! But its worth it.. Will help you with digi painting.
Oh and for painting, I always painted a thin layer of yellow (most organic substances have yellow, even peoplen leave the white space) on the drawing before applying the other colours over it..

You're doing well, keep up the constant updates!
TightI like the drawing !!!
Thanks guys!!!!
Back to Bridgemen and some cloth studies since I've never done that.
Hey, good stuff Gthm, especially that study of the green cloth - is it t-shirt like material? Sure does look like it![]()
Keep going with those studies! I found those forearm muscles the hardest to remember :/
Great to see all these studies, keep working hard!
Thanks guys =)
This weeks update:Bought a technical pen so was just trying it out. Guess I should practice it more.
The iceberg painting looks really good. Just spend a little more time on refining . Drapery are good start, do more. And use more hues and variations of color even though it appears a single color. Do spend time on these, you dont have to hurry. Keep them coming. Water color paintings are coming along nicely ,although its time for you to use all you have learned from anatomy studies on these. That will make them look solid.

Hi
Well I haven't posted anything for almost a year. Well I was lazy. I thought I'll start posting again since I started my daily gestures again. So here it goes. And I'll also be posting stuffs that I did last year so here I go:

TOday's gestures and 2 old paintings:

Hey! Those gestures are lookin greatKeep them up! The environment study looks good as well, the detailed one with a carpet of leaves

Oh and, the black and white drawing of the girl? Her legs look a little odd as they're too thin compared to her arms.. That and standing in that pose, she looks unbalanced as her feet are too close to each other..
The painting of the man next to her looks good as well, I liked that one amongst your other acrylic paintings.. You've rendered the skin really well![]()
Sharon J has a tonne of great suggestions so I'm going to cop-out and just say ditto!
I like the way you're approaching the limbs in your gestures- with the rings to show the mass. I would suggest doing the same thing with the torso - as you did the last gesture in post 107 (circled below)
That one is particularly good - you can see the direction or the limbs and torso very clearly.
I doodled a few head and torsos to give you an idea of what i mean.
Keep up all the hard work
& happy sketching.
Thank you guys. Rhubix, I have that in mind but the thing is I'm using posemaniacs' 30 second gesture drawing (45seconds actually). So I dont always get time to for that. But again Thank alot =]
Now for the weekend updates
Was just trying to draw a portrait without reference.
Trying to design a animatable 5 year old girl.
Trying to draw myself in cartoony style. The big head one kind of looks wee bit like Dave MUstaine.

Hey man keep doing what you are doing, just a few things I need to add. When cartooning thing of them as basic shapes, most cartoons you see in animations are really easy to break down into simple shapes. Throw in some perspective and form studies into the mix as well because if you are learning the construction of anatomy you will have to know how to draw each basic form perfectly to assemble or come to the end result of the anatomical structure. For the portrait without reference, REMEMBER those construction, try to recall those past studies of the construction of the face. The eyeballs are spheres, the cranium is a sphere and the mandible is an extruded geometric form extending from that sphere. Keep it up and happy sketching!
