I'm looking at these thinking "Damn, those look awfully familiar...."
Great to see your stuff here. Awesome, as always.

Awesome as usual! Were you channeling Judd Waugh on the crashing wave? And I remember some of those (my Sonoma Creek painting was stolen).
What would Caravaggio do?

Jeff,
Yeah Sonoma was fun, painting in the middle of the creek.
Hey Rich,
Thanks,
didn't know you were on here the 3d stuff on your site is awesome as usual.
WOwieee, these are great works.
I feel sorry for myself that i dint drop in here earlier. hmmm. Rectifying the mistake now. If you could offer some advice, I have been trying to get in the gallery circuit, but its sort of hard, I always get told that my work doesnt meet the portfolio of the gallery, which is infact most of the times true, as my work is pretty outlandish in my country. Some Indian artists who have had some success with similar styles had to go abroad to get a name first.
I have also tried to contact international galleries, but the fact that I am not situated near them really comes in the way.
I will start to go to galleries again with my renewed portfolio soon, so if you have some words to help me please it would be cool.
Thanks and take care.

very serene. my eyes can really rest in these beautiful paintings- love the 1st and 5th of the later batch especially!
Great paintings here, I love what your doing. It must be so inspirational to travel to such beautiful places and try to capture them in a painting.
Its been a few months; here are more of my gallery paintings and commissions.
Outstanding as usual! "Pines and Seaots" is killer - and also "Morning White Oak Canyon". "Summer Afternoon" - that was a windy day, eh?!
What would Caravaggio do?

Hey Armand, nice work! I have areal soft spot for people camping out in crashed spaceships (I'm serious!). Awesome the way you integrated the photo inspiration. Have you seen the finished book?
Rich,
Thanks, they are sending me a copy but haven't seen it yet...
'Pines and Seacats' is a lovely painting as is 'Dawn's Early Light'.
I'm rather taken with the latest Sci-Fi one - what's interesting about it is the 'feel', in that it is just that little bit more personal than the brassy, off-the-peg, mindlessly slick things one so often sees.
Well done!

There's a nice softness to your paintings that I don't normally associate with landscapes, and it makes your scenes very pleasant to look at.
Beautiful work.
All of these have a feeling of generic gumminess. Like stock photos. None of these feel like they are from a real place with distinct characteristics of rather they are made of the generic art-mark symbols used so often by the Saturday morning "how to paint a landscape" TV show or in the stacks of mass-produced factory canvases for sale in furniture stores.

Cool, thanks for sharing Armand.
Haven't updated in awhile. Most of these have structures or buildings in them. All were oils painted from life, alla prima, in one sitting of 3 hours or less.
Awesome as usual - I love the sky in that last one.

These are so impressive. Just like Jeff's, I can really sense that space because of your great use of value. Keep posting every once in awhileI love your choice of scenery.

JX and DH thanks for the comments will post more soon.
Beautiful work. You really capture the essence of the scenes you so wonderfully portray, and that speaks volumes of the artist behind them.
Please, continue leaving us breathless.
Hey Armand, great work as usual. Love the Avalon harbor one. Many great memories from that place and I've seen that exact view.
Is the last one an old hotel in Pasadena? it looks very familiar.
Thank you so much for sharing your work. Inspiring!
