    Pose help

I'm trying to redo a fight scene, which is out of the way of what I usually do, and everything turns out either stiff or wonky. I'm looking for critique on this one as I'm working on it - obviously it's not near being finished.

It'll be cropped some at the bottom, so don't worry too much about leg position..

Looks like you're off to a good start.

The pose itself looks balanced, but I think you need to exaggerate the foreshortening, specifically the size difference in arm/hands. You could probably get away with making that foreground hand twice as big. You've already started doing that with the cane (which looks a little too large for the current hand.) Also, the head could stand to be smaller. It's making the shoulders seem a bit diminished right now.

Also, is this a preparation drawing, or is this the final piece? If it's the final, I'd really make the rendering on the back arm more light and subtle.

It's just the sketch! Half of the sketch, really. Thanks, I'll try enlarging that hand.

If you ever have problems with poses and such, you could do a bunch of thumbnails ?

It's just not all drawn in yet.
And I tried thumbnails, but I'm having problems telling whether the anatomy's right or how to make it flow well, thumbnails don't really help.
Ah well. I'm putting this on hold for now.
