I refrenced the fifth element for this city sketch, of course the starbuck sign was my idea. Also adding another sketch from my neglected sketch book.

your crits are most welcomed
Adam!
It's Logan. I didn't know you had a sketchbook. Well I must say that I'm quite impressed. You're coming along great. Your environments are looking great! Your characters probably are what need the most work. A couple things to consier when doing your sketches is to think of line weight, and value groupings. You probably do already but look up characterdesigns.com they have a huuuuuge library of photosets with some great models to study off of.
whats up man!!! thanks for posting, ya its a work in progress. Thanks for the crit
,Ive been trying to up my value game with some of those animal studies. Checked out that link, and will use it for sure. Derek was telling me today I should up my kong fu, if so that websites the dojo.
thanks again bro,

I'm really feeling your pencil/ pen sketches, nice rendering and style.. I like those environments, your digital work has improved, if comparing those on the first page and that one you just posted, referenced from the fifth element movie. Keep up.
whats up spark thanks for posting man, appreciate the crit. Ya man paintings gonna take some time to be sure. You keep it up as well.![]()
I love how you do background, that last futuristic one is pretty amazing. I'm also really like your Jack Nickleson portraits. You're very good with realism and working with depth.

Wanted to share some 3D homework, let me know what you think.

Love the environment from post #31! The big M sign is pretty cool, but it kinda destroys the composition. This would work much better if you'd place it more towards the middle or do something on the left side to counter its prominence.
Nice to see some 3D in here! For the first one, it's pretty hard to tell what material it is made of, it feels a bit noisy and 'bumpy'. I think it would help a lot if you tweak the spec a little more. Good stuff, looking forward to seeing more![]()
last of the alice updates, some 3d work I refrenced from Bio Shock 1, a couple blog pieces with graphite, and some classic monsters in progress also with graphite. Feed the sketchbook........nice skethbook......![]()

Haha, there is a real alice-mania breaking out, but I like your gritty approach. Try to bring some more design elements in though!
ducks
Wanted to post some 3d renders from a project Im working on. Well post more 2d stuff soon as I finish. Hope you like
Your pen sketches and compositions are really cool.
I'd say maybe try not to shade around the forms so much. Like, figure out the planes of each thing and define those - it'll force you to figure out the lighting. It will also help things not look bulbous. It looks like you're starting to do that, but maybe simplify first and add detail where it's needed.
The Alice stuff is pretty sweet!

My instructor was telling me the exact same thing on saturday, he was saying I should draw out a grid like in maya then work the lighting, just like you suggested. Hearing it from two sources really drives it home, thank you again.

By the way, love your work
The next moment soldiers came running through the wood, at first in twos and threes, then ten or twenty together, and at last in such crowds that they seemed to fill the whole forest. Alice got behind a tree, for fear of being run over, and watched them go by.
Wow you have some amazing stuff, I especially like your parrot! Subscribed.
You need to practice more on your anatomy. It really helps.
not sure what to say, not my favorite to be sure, but here it is
Wow, great SB! I like almost everything, it's so well done! Keep doing more![]()
classic monsters
sureal study ( a head case study )
Pretty sweet stuff in here, I especially like the 5th element scene you reffed, though I think you made it look much better.
Just keep working on anatomy and values (in post 52 it's kind of hard to tell what's going on because the values seem to be all over the place), in other words I guess you should put more contrast on the area of focus. Keep it up
heres a creepy bed bug
