Nice paintings, looks like you experiment a lot with PS, keep at it. Perhaps learn animal anatomy too not only paint whats on the outside.

@heix33: Thanks mate, yeah that would be a wise thing to do
Here is something I'm working on for a contest over at league of legends.
Only kassadin so far, but I plan on adding more.
in the first planet picture I can't tell where the sun is...or is it a system with two suns? I like the last one though.
Kassadin's left hand looks a bit small.

@krysjez: To be honest, I'm not quite sure what I was thinking when I made that.
The way it looks to me now is like the most left planet is leaving a shadow on the other planets. So there only one light source, the one shining on the left planet.
I changed the left hand, I think it looks better this way. Thanks for the crits.
Some more progress on my LoL work
I could use any C&C at the moment. I'm so incredibly rusty, thats its costing me a lot of effort to render and color this thing. Still a lot of rendering to do
Nice works you have here mate! The brush experimentation looks amazing, keep pushing it!! &thanks for your words in my sb, I appreciate it!
@Ricardo Robles: Thanks, and I will
I'm not going to finish my entrance for the art of revelry contest over at LoL.
It just didn't really go in the direction I wanted and I just didn't have enough time to finish it, or start over.
So I'm not going to send it in, wich is a shame because I would have loved to be a part of that contest.
I would like to post two sketches I happened to have drawn.
Kassadin
Vladimir
like that last post. got some sweet rhythm and flow. keep it up!

@Matt: Thanks mate, yeah I was going for some dynamic compositions, glad it turned out that way
A new thing I'm working on...

Another update on Viktor, the machine herald. From League of Legends.
I seem to be somewhat stuck, so any comments of critiques would be appreciated.
hey I like that first Kassadin dynamic composition sketch!
For this latest one it's kinda late to mention it now but the pose looks a bit awkward? and you might wanna check the foreshortening, esp. on the chest plate-arms area

@krysjez: Thanks, , I might work that one out. Thanks for your crits on the viktor piece. It isn't really too late to work that out. But I'm afraid I don't really see what you mean. I must have stared myself blind on this piece really. Because I can't see shit!
Here's an update with some fixes, though not the ones you pointed out.
Man your sketchbook has come such a long way! Looks like all the studies and sketchbook pages are paying off! I'm looking forward to seeing some more super refined, finished pieces in the future.
Hey Luckers, thanks for droppin my sb , i really like the chalky brushes you used on page 10. You seem to have a natural skill for creating texture by mixing types of brushes, you should try to keep that in all your pieces, even when they are not environements. But overall I think your studies are really good, and improving a lot ! Small crits for these latest characters paintings would be to try to get looser edges , smoother transition, where the form is rounded. Make sure you dont use too much small brush strokes to create gradient of lights on curves.. try using smoother larger brushes on these zones to create the distinction between light and shadow.
Keep going man !
Really love your traditional paintings btw, that blue underpainting is looking good like that hehe
@Ebersol: Thank you, I hope to push more of those out as well.
@Virg: Thank you for stopping by Virg. And thank you for the C&C. I really appreciate it. And you're right. I barely use a soft brush at allI'll try to use that and i'll try mixing up more texture brushes in my non-landscape work.
So, I decided to draw something besides a planet entirely with my mouse...
It's a lot harder than I anticipated.
that fish is awesome!
what an improvement *_*
That fish is really really cool, very nice use of textures. How did you make it? xD Pen tool?

@Sushy: Thank you, I used the lasso tool a lot, And just painting within it with brushes seems to do the trick
Two more animal studies. Smudgy fun!

hey nice sketchbook
I really like the fish, and the rat too, keep playing with that smudge tool![]()
hey luckers! look at you go man. those animal studies are awesome. the fish and the rat especially; the brush techniques really add to the animal there. the frog doesnt fit so well in that regard. but looks good.
Warning, I draw babiez
Hey Luckers, nice sketchbook. That CoW was good, and too bad you didn't get to finish that warrior guy for the contest, that was looking good too. That rat study is really nice, and some of your landscape studies are pretty nice. I think the brush strokes got a little out of hand with that frog.
Quick tip for drawing figures: avoid hourglass shapes. They tend to look ungraceful and are usually anatomically inaccurate anyway. Here's a little diagram:
You want to offset the bulges, so your eye kind of flows from one to the other. And of course, studying anatomy will help you know where they should go.
Cheers!
Whoah nice Luckers! Much improvement since the last time I dropped by, keep it up the hard work (something I need to do) hah.
Those animal studies are awesome, you nailed the 'feel' of texture for them both.

lens flare renaissance
@Towy: Thanks!
@Virg: Thank you, I will. And I did
@Ashess: Thank you. Yeah I agree with you. The frog was just something that suprised me along the way.
The smudge tool can also be used to block in values and colours fairly quickly. So I had a lot of fun with it. But it does indeed not translate to the animal as well as the others.
@Mr. Corlan: Thanks mate , I really appreciate you taking some time to draw that out. I've done a bit of sketching after seeing it. And I'm still having some trouble keeping it in mind.
@BenjaminJL92: Thanks. Well I'm not working as hard as I should, in my own mind. I know I can do better/more. But can't we all!
@Koto: Thank you, I appreciate it!
One more animal study to not post without a pic. I should probably stop doing these for a while. But I'm always having so much fun experimenting with Photoshop. And that's easier when you are used to the subject already
Edit: Little wip for this weeks cow. I will have to see if I can finish it.

Great studies on the last page. Keep it up fellow-dutchy![]()
I am digging the limited palette sketches of kassadin (who is op). I think the hands and feet on the viktor piece are quite small.
Love love this sketchbook!
And when I saw the rat and the frog... that's so up my street, I nearly fell over.
Best,
Ana
the rat and the frog are awesome!!!!!
also love the red fish and the space, planet scenes
