    Aloha!
My name is Paul and I'm journalist from Poland - frustrated one, tired of all politics => my remedy? to learn painting,drawing-heh I know it sounds funny cause I'm not young and don't really have any skills but well "we are all born to booze not lose" and to learn . I know I'll learn a lot here so lets start (sorry for my english)

Dimebag still WIP \m/- (I used photo and took the title from it)

Cześć! (a teraz po angielsku już)

No worry, I'm a translator student and still like drawing more, so I kind of understand your situation. Don't worry and draw LOTS, everywhere you go carry a sketchbook and doodle, but not just draw spirals - draw 3D shapes growing one from the other. One hour of such extensive doodling will benefit you more in the beginning than just painting from photo reference (that is not to say painting from reference is not beneficial, but it should come after you understand and "feel" 3D objects in your drawings).

Watch your colors. For one they are too desaturated. Also remember that shadow is not black... try using a dark opposite hue of your core color.

Hey there, glad that i was finally able to drop in.

Now it's tipical to everyone, you get a pencil or a pen or marker or whatever, and you wnat to draw, dragons, warriors, coll badass deamons and skeletons, well the answer is no can do, if you're serious into drawing.
There's no shortcuts here pal, you need to start from basics, as in my opinion a good painting is truly only a bunch of basic rules and knowledge plus some artistic tricks from the sleeve to make it more personal.

Start from boxes, cylinders elipses, and for the sake of your learning study from life, rather than from photos. I've made the same mistake once. It is crucial for you to understand that photos are lying, by whole freaking lot. Not to mention, that most of them are modified. The use of photos comes when one has mastered the principles and know how things work.

So do tons of quick sketches, colors studies,s till lifes, lifedrawing classes if possible ( rysowanie golych bab ;] ) after years of practice and experiments then you can call yourself a succesfull artist, thre's only one catch, patience.
Those who lack it will fall in this long rocky road.

    Best wishes, ICE
