Love the updates and the work that has gone into them. I can see that everything is slowly coming to together. Don't forget to have a bit of fun now and then, so you don't get totally bored, and to see how much you have learnt.

Black Spot- Thanks Blackspot. I too believe things are shaping up. by the way happy new year! hope you have a good one!
-----
Yes yes yes... Y'all know what it is!
A new year, a new time, a new season, a new hope- et-cetera et-cetera et-cetera lol.
I haven't sketched in a while actually. Contrary to my nature. Even in my little portable sketchpad I've hardly sketched. It's no longer about sketching for me. It's about creating something that will have a lasting impact. So, we'll see what happens this year. The only problem is time. lol, but that's everyone's problem isn't it?
Hope to see more established works from me! I've gotten better, but I can't show you all everything right now. I'm working on some group projects like I mentioned earlier.
However, I'll still be posting mad sketches for my promise of trying to make this sketchbook as inspiring as possible!
I hope everyone improves this year.
And NO. It's not your "last" year on earth. Jesus still Loves you!
Peace. Let's get it crackin'

Wow, you're a busy man.
I see a lot of growth in your sb. I'm at work and I haven't been able to really look over your art, but there is a lot of improvement here from the first page to the last.
I really liked looking at your hand studies as well.
Thanks for checking out my sb and see you around.

I've got cleaner lines and an improved visual library. Alright! check them out.. drop feedback.

Hey all! I don't really remember what happened here. I guess things are slowly changing in my life. MY comp's been crashing on and off since the year started- on top of that the laptop keeps getting hogged away from me-- AnnnD-- I haven't really sketched anything much- in what feels like ages (probably cuz I'm so used to whippin out my pocket-sketchbook every 5 secs). So that's all the news with me on some issues and drawbacks I got lol. I'm doing all these projects on my plate, so Lots of Multi-tasking- and my life's path is getting more clearer as I travel.
So I just basically came here to say how y'all doin, and I'm still alive! I'll post some sketches soon for y'all.
Peace mano!

Good work sir! Love your most recent stuff.
Oh, man I see great progress here. It is really hard job, you made.
Your line becomes more definite.
Keep drawing.
Peipei- Thank you! much obliged~
Grzessnik- I will definitely keep improving!
-----
Hey all!
me again. Just stopping by the late night hours to post these things before my comp goes blue-screen again!
Just a lot of anatomy/gesture exercises. Well, not "necessarily" anatomy. Although, I am studying bones right now. I'll post those studies on some other day. And remember, a lot of my process right now is kinda abstract/gestural, utilizing shape and line- so when I say "study" don't expect any image-to-paper type copying. I usually break things down with my own understanding, then apply them to other things, with an imaginative take on them. It's just how I learn right now. (Maybe I'm excusing myself again for not doing any finished work, i dunno)... But these studies are mostly on the gestural side, with some hint focus on muscle structure.
Also I did some color-experimental character silhouettes I had ideas for. They're all totally random, and please feel free to be inspired! I'll do more of those as time goes by.
*yawn... *stretch...
... It's all nothing but the basics, until I Hammer them all down...
Keep sketchin kiddos~
peace everyone. Goodnight!

Hey Andre good to see you still drawing away. I really like the one in post 187 reminds me of the Iron Giant film which I really liked. Also like what your doing with your abstract colour concepts. There's something very interesting in the way you are using colours in these.![]()
Hey thanks for the comment bro! Crazy amount of work in the last post! I'm assuming that's all your best drawings from the 21 days you were gone. Man, I really want to study my anatomy now...
You keep being dedicated too! Maybe work on something finished, you're getting really good with the quick anatoym sketches but they can't be much of a challenge for you anymore.
Your sketchbook is an inspiration man! I really love how much...character? your characters have, haha!
Keep up the great work!
Hey man, some steady progression in your figures, espec toward the last few studies. Looks good man, can see sparks of improvement over your last set of studies =) Keep the passion! =)
I wanted to Thank You All! for the constant encouragement! I'm glad to be a part of ConceptArt.Org!!
But Now,
it's time for a quick breakdown (or talk) before I post most recent art!
I'm glad this sketchbook is seen as an inspiration! I will try my best to motivate that factor! I love learning and being inspired by y'all too!!
Just some quick notes:
I just went thru my whole process from page 1 -now, and I see the improvement you guys are talkin about! I'm happy too! And as for certain things of what I said-- lol,
-My skills have not "tripled" like I wanted, but I definitely have improved. (around page 3?)
-I promised Blackspot to post how I use my exercise templates, and I still haven't done that! (around page 4?)
- my quote, on Dec 14, 2011:
"maybe all I'm asking for from y'all is a little patience. (I know what I'm doing people). If I don't start showing refined work by (let's say... in March of 2012---- uhm.. Shoot me through the screen) lol."
^
that was some type of- I don't even know... It's MARCH..
oh well...
-Vertical was telling me about doing more complex studies. I'm working on it!
-I told y'all I was now interested in Graphic Design as my newfound Career path! It still is... I'm just waiting for certain things in my life to sort out, to see how I should handle the schooling thing-- iiiiff that is, I'm going back to school for Art purposes. (who knows?)
-and finally, the criticism I remember the most throughout the sketchbook, was my use of color. I personally noticed a very impressionistic style in the majority of my paintings (which are digital based really), I'm hoping to change that when I get a chance to focus on digital painting again! And I'm still focusing on greys-scale to suit my visual discrepancy between value.
SOOO....
I say, don't worry everyone! I will keep it up! I will try my very best (possible)- to complete ALL of these exciting ventures I have heard and spoken on my sketchbook until now... believe it!
-------
enough chatter! Let's do Art! (and oh yeah...) My current focus is primarily on the elements of LINE.. SPACE.. SHAPE usage. So sketches are still going to be a large portion of this book for now!
Hope I didn't bore you!! ART TIME!!

Now unto Thanks:
Marian Rowling- Hey Marian! Thanks for stopping by! The Iron Giant is what I thought too haha! Also, I agree about those abstract color concepts, I loved doing those color studies. I will definitely try and relate it to more real-life objects when I get a chance. But for now, I'll have to stick this method with plain experimenting! Not ready for still life's just yet...
GoGoJojo- Go For it!
Vertical- I think you beat me to that point bro! quick anatomy (quick studies in general) are becoming mundane. It's like eating junk food, when you know too much isn't benefitting you! lol. Yea, I will start using a more practical approach to things, after I feel "compelled" to abandon my theory work. But for now... theory is where it's at. But, I know what you mean! I'll try and do slower studies!
Art Minded- Hey thanks! I love characters! I just posted some more haha!
Kungfoowiz- Hey thanks for viewing! Yea, "sparks" is also what I see. I'm trying to create fireworks! lol, but I guess everything has to start with a spark right?
--
more to come people. With the standard that I have set: LINES, SHAPE, and SPACE- understanding, there is shure to come a great improvement even from this point on, by God's grace!
Peace out y'all! I'M MOVING FORWARD!!

Was looking over your pages and particularly these vehicle / industrial designs, I find them inspiring.

Gee - you're still breaking my scroll finger. I like the odd fun bit in colour you're throwing in there - shows you're putting into practice what you're learning. Go you.
Dre, you bastard about time you stop by in my SB. Still when are we gonna go sketching? We're having a fine ass weather this spring. Come! You need to go out once a while and sketch same goes for me, since I havent really sketched in a long time. I've been busy with work and just stay home and draw/paint on my days off. Let me know so we could get together and sketch!

danomatic- Thanks Man! I love Scott Robertson's work-- He's one of my inspirations for vehicles/industrial design work. I also get inspirations from that conceptvehicles blog, concept robots blog, etc. Anything concept art- I'm about it! Yes, The Skillful Huntsman is my Arts inspiration bible! Those guys are great! I'm sure they're all married with kids now or something lol, but their stuff is always great! great book, great project! nuff said! That youtube vid is excellent! I mean, it's sick yo! totally stylistic, but as all the comments point out- it's a crazy experiment of a film. I wanna see it lol!
bish0p2004- hey Bishop. (Sounds like I'm calling you a pastor or something lol!... yea, Thanks for the comments! Always hoping to inspire and be inspired man!
The7Artist7- haha! yeah.
ANtY93- Thanks Man! Awesome!
Mat Kaminski- Hey mat! Kool. Stay blessed ma brotha!
DatBlackguy- Thanks blackguy (lol)- yea son, I love figures- one of my fav things to do! I'm always analyzing and interpreting the human figure, to keep a solid foundation for creative work. It stems from life, and sprouts full form in the imagination...
Black Spot- Hey BlackSpot! thanks. I have yet to study color theory extensively, I'm trying to keep a balance between my foundations and imaginative work. As you know, I'm sort of re-structuring my learning curve here in art. I'll get around to color theory soon as I finish with the traditional basic art elements. yep.
kimozabbi- yo, we'll go drawing once I get stuff in my life together, then we'll chill. So YOU just chill man! lol...

Hello Everyone!
I recently did some more character sketches!
I also tried out my abstract color concepts once more. I think I'm starting to like these! I wanna see how well this technique does on some environments haha. (The whole idea of this is to simply splash color on the page- then, you will realize "Color Form" starts to develop once smooth color combinations become evident in the silhouette. From there, the image now has potential. So these are all essentially "mannequins" of digital concepts), they have a nice visual-base for a cool finished work!
The rest are the sketches!! Much more to come!
Hope you enjoy! Peace!!

I started these last year, and finally finishing this year. I could have managed my time to finish these in 10 days (1 page a day)- however there was improvement in other areas of art + all of life's problems, so I worked these pages, on and off until now. I'm so happy that they are finally done! For me, there is some Mad improvement in terms of me visualizing things now... Even with that, I have to do more of these. I also added the template so you ladies and gentlemen can try out the exercises if you want. (Mind the side views, it looks tricky, but it's not really). They are in free-space to save time and energy from an "environmental" perspective. I wanted a free-space perspective instead. Proportional issues are not of any concern, I had to fit 10 on each page (harder than it looks). All types of issues with each one lol, but I hope you are all inspired to get better as I am! as always feel free to crit. After them is the last-pile of last year's "free-space box rotations"- I have stopped doing them for they profit me nothing once I could do them very quickly- it just got boring and of no challenge. These "volumetric" (lol) rotations are a step up from those simple cube rotations! ("volumetric?" yea, I know, I really couldn't think of a name to call this type of exercise).
(If you haven't seen my 1000 boxes challenge, just go back a few pages...)
Next:
I have some environment sketches to post, some more life drawings, heavy loads of character design sketches, and more vehicle sketches. I think I'm happy to say that I can now finish off many sketchbook pages in one day (joy)!I have reached level 2. You'll see what I mean. There is crazy improvement coming ahead!
My plan after this feat, is to get back into digital to learn to combine all of these elements into storytelling scenery. I also want to do some pencil portraits, and acrylics, even charcoal-- but that is all in the works!
Have a blessed night everyone!
