    I'm baaaaaaaccck

Eddieee-Ah, I guess that was the problem. I turned it on to do the lines on the colorful part of the head, but forgot to turn it of. I don't usually use the pressure sensitive opacity. Thanks for the help!
spaz- spaz, spaz, spaz. It's not a geisha it's an oiran. I'm glad you like it, it was the first thing I thought of after seeing those pictures!
p sage-thanks for the tips! I think it was a weird photo to begin with, and it was a combination of harsh overhead lighting( it was taken in the machine manufacturing shop) and an odd angle of the head. I'll try to do better on my next one!
Angel- It's Katamari! I can't take credit for the characters
Knarf- Yay! And yes, Katamari is awesome. I'll keep going and going, I feel like the little engine that could!
Metal Fingers- It's awesome that we go to the same school, isn't it? If you want to play spot the Betsy when school starts again, I'm the one with long brown hair past my butt and maybe wearing a bear hat. And yes, we should DRAAAAAWWWWWW together. Portland needs to get into the sketch group business!
NicG- Yay and awww! But now you have the best kind of relationship, the one you have with your son!
    Teapo- Never fear, Betsy's here...again!

Yay, compy's back! I say yay too much don't I? Since it was only a few days (and stressful one's in which I didn't get to draw much) I don't have much, but I'll post again real soon with today's work!

    *A trillium!
*Since oni rem didn't want to post a picture of himself
*idea came from a tree I see at Tryon creek state park that's growing on top of a rotting stump.

    [edit] It's not uploading my pictures! D: D: D: D:
    I'll try again later...

y'know, I could play Gordon Freeman. Given that he never says a damn thing, all I'd have to do is pop the lens out my shades, trim my goatie and bash things. I'd be great.

The carbon tatoo piece, is as awesome as it is disturbing. I find it difficult to look at, I can actually feel those wounds, the image is very powerful, well done!

ExiledRed: Yeah, you could be a very angry Gordon. GRRRR!!!!!
And that means a lot to me that you like that piece so much, and that you think the marks look realistic.

Sorry I haven't replied to all of your guy's sketchbooks yet, but I promise I will. AND MY COMPUTER JUST UNPLUGGED SO I HAD TO RESTART THIS ARRGGHH!!!! Anyways just doodled since it was just the first day of school with lots of being talked at, so here's my crap

Hiya Gogogogogo! Glad you're back on the net, nice drawings in the meantime..love the panda, the tree is cool and the little japanese doll looks really good so far..so cute! (the inner corner of her right eye needs moving up just a bit - sorry being picky!)

Never heard of solar engraving just looked up it up on instructables.com looks really interesting. I'm going to have a play with some light sensitive paper too (need to get a UV light box - not much sun up this way usually) thanks for the inspiration.

Angel-Don't be sorry! Any help is always appreciated! I'm working on trying to color her, I'll post it when I've gotten farther on it.
TurboSnail- Oh no, My portraits are taking my posts! About my gogorobo, I'm entering him along with my tree snail in the student art show, so I'll post pictures of him pretty soon when he's up. I hope I win, I got an honorable mention last time for my print of my late dog.
teapo- what's wrong with Betsy? To tell you the truth, I just thought up the name on the spot when registering on this site. I used jojo because any critter I find, I usually name stephen or jojo. Got the name from jojo the dog-faced boy, look him up! And yes, you probably have seen him before, he's tare panda!

Metal Fingers might recognize the place in this wip

In order to get a degree in arts and practices, I have to take intro to drawing . Along with that, I also take figure drawing and welding on mondays and wednesdays. I'm only gonna post everything I did in a day in those classes once to show how much I do on those days.
    ...
    That made no sense.
Anyways, I probably won't be posting anything until sunday, I'm goin to Seattle to see a friend and follow my other friends around at a nerd-I mean anime convention. I promise I'll draw at least one rediculous person in an ill-fitting costume:3.

Yo Bets! These are some seriously confident lines you got yer'self here, nicely done! I'm also happy to see you painting with some full opacity blocks of color, even though it's kinda a pain in the ass when you're working digitally, I think it's a great way to improve your color sense... and yours in improving mightily!

Keep up the studies and you'll keep leveling up!

yea, draw draw draw draw draw! I'll keep my eyes out, I'm always in neuberger drawing at the tables with my headphones on, usually wearing a blazers cap. You should have taken barbaras class this term, its really sweet. the studies are looking good, really pay attention to the structure of the body while you draw, some of them feel like they are getting lost in too many detail lines. Cheers!

I just got back from Seattle and boy are my legs tired...no, really, they are.

BRINKMAN!-Yay! Thanks for the encouragement! I think if you compare learning art to a video game, then drawing so many shoes would probably qualify as grinding . And sorry for saying the same thing twice in your sketchbook, I was tired. But it is true, your colors are wonderful!
Metal Fingers- I'm actually doing a dual enrollment with PCC, so I'm taking this life drawing course there. I'm gonna keep my eye out for you though! And all that excess line work? Ya gotta keep busy for the allotted time, or else the teacher will swoop in on you like a pterodactyl. SKREEEEE!!!!!!!!
Black Spot- Yeah, I know, now I can make up for all the time I've missed out on drawing! And thank you!
Teapo-Aw, poor thing! And thank you! I'm working on some digitals of the cosplayers and some other stuff, so until then, here's a toast to you!

Bleeeeeeeeeh, I'm TIRED. I made it to both drawing classes (the results were nothing to write home about), but I didn't go to welding for safety reasons, I didn't want to injure myself in my stupor(see Linguini, I can take care of myself!). Oh, I also submitted m y sculptures to the student art show! Anyways, here's some of my crap from today

Thanks Loathsome! I have to look at your sketchbook, it's been a while for me, too!

It's times like this that I wish I had a tablet with tilt sensitivity...

This time I made the background pattern with a piece of lichen!!! not sure if it will stay the background though

I like the idea that the first life drawing on post 167 looks like her bottom melted - you took the welding arc to it, didn't you? The rest escaped to look pretty good though.
