No more promises. (may contain slight nudity)

There is some irony in looking forward to getting 18 and then realizing how much time you have wasted. Frankly I regret not having invested enough time into drawing and networking even though the path was chosen. Now it's time to get to action to compensate for lost opportunities. it is my last year at school and it's a matter of days till I am on my own, so I've got to do something, not just dream.

Awesome stuff dude. You're my age (I just turned 18) and you're way ahead of me it seems. Loving the sketches, would love to see some more finished stuff.
    Keep it coming brah.

Don't worry man. You're young and really talented. It seems like you know anatomy, rendering, line weight and all that stuff very well. Look at me, I'm turning 21 next year and you're waaay ahead of me.

    Now show us more dude!

Hey, you're miles ahead from where I was at 18, don't be so hard on yourself! You've got a good range of practice here, will be good to see some more.

Thanks a lot for the kind comments Makes me really really inspired to go on growing. There is a psychology(which I'm hopefully starting to break) that makes it hard to believe that what I do may be of much value to anyone else...that makes me too cautious sometimes.
Here is a photoshop custom brush test from today. Not much, I know. Got to scan some sketchbook pages for tomorrow.

Sorry, couldn't reach scanner today, so no scans. Here are some experiments with the same brush as in the previous post. Both pictures need more work, first one has weird proportions and the second one has very rough hands.

cool sketchbook. i feel like i've been wasting time too, even though i'm only 16 and a half. it's great that you're super motivated now though
awesome last post. i really like those brush strokes on that tan and cyan one.

keep doing anatomy studies and keep up the hard work and you'll get back on track no problem. although part of me thinks "on track" isn't really definable by age. more like improvement rate. yeah?

I feel so bad for not updating for a long time and the stuff I've drawn during this period is uninteresting. I mean I have to choose more challenging things to draw, which is one of the main goals of this sketchbook. I guess I have gone through creative block. However, there is more free time in connection with holidays so I can do more studies and creature designs/

your sketches are pretty fantastic! the thing i like about your images is that it has this quality that pulls people to it; the angle, the expression, the pose just works. in your drawings of people, there's personality in them, though mostly they seem defiant =P.

i would love to see more from you. will be watching this SB ^^

I'm 20 and you're also way ahead of me hah, so definitely don't worry too much about it. You are off to a great start here, and if you really practice every day, I can't wait to see where you are in the future; I think this sketchbook will be incredible. Keep up the awesome work man

Thanks a lot for the comments. It's been a long time since last post, just couldn't come up with something i really like, honestly. the zombie piece is a WIP of a remake of a piece I did in august. I just want to get rid of the awkwardness of the original piece. I certainly suck at landscapes, well, no surprise, my brain doesn't work properly in this direction yet. I'll try to concentrate on creatures more, however. Hopefully being a biology nerd in younger days really sets me into this direction.
Oh, and from now on this is a daily sketchbook.

    I must say,
I am impressed. While your pieces miss some polish at times I can see that you exell at creature design. I say try making them a bit more individual and weird. Try letting them evolve, maybe even draw some natural evolutions of some of them to really understand your critters. I am subscribing to your thread and I'll check back regularly so be sure not to piss me off by not posting... DAILY!

Na just joking, though a daily sketchbook is helpful.

    See you.

Really great looking creatures, feeling all of them, especially the one done in blue ballpoint pen, good line work, you have got most of the things done confidently with as little strokes as possible, and that's good..

I don't have anything to recommend about landscapes though,I myself aint really a scenery type of guy.. keep it fun to yourself - is a suggestin that might sometimes help lol Let's keep those threads rolling!

the biology nerd part of you shows!! (in an awesome way) really liking the donkey-with-the-insect-like-mouth and one of the skull monkeys.

colour up those creatures; be more daring on the coloured creatures that you did because at the moment it's a little too flat and the texture on it is too generic. google up some nasty, goosebump raising textures and practice rendering it... details like that would give your art the "OOMPH!!1one". out of curiousity, have you ever thought abt how the creature moves?

also, check out neville page's tutorial on gnomonworkshop (it's about USD49~); it's about rendering fleshy textures. page is also an awesome creature designer, so have a look at his other works! (if you don't know about neville already haha).

and your humans ain't bad on the eyes either! environment, i like how you rendered the rocks for the third one, love the colour scheme!

oh oh, and check out http://www.creaturespot.com/!

keep on churning out studies and practices!! don't get lazy! spark and me will hunt ya if you do haha
