Something Im working on atm, its nearly a couple hours work or so, but I need people to tell me if they can spot anything wrong with it before I start working into it proper and rendering, so I would find any paint overs or red lines very useful thanks

Downloaded the Loomis Head and hands book recently, and actually drew some faces from it, some are a bit quirky but I'll do more soon

It really depends. If you wanna digital ink it, it's enough shading. Besides. If you go traditional then yes, you need harder shading to represent better, however, if you like to sketch on paper transfer to digital and ink and color in PS, then it makes no sense since you'd be overriding the shading with color anyway. In digital you need those hatches just to remind you how the shadows look, not necessarily to give a feel of 3dness to your character. You can do that afterwards through the painting process.

You've got some nice sketches comming along, what I'd recommend the most to improve is everytime you finish a drawing/painting, find some professional work that is similar to what you wanted and try to figure out what you have to do differently to make yours look like theirs. The answer won't always be clear but if you continue to do some traditional studies from life and anatomy the answer will more often than not come with practice. Keep at it

LDQ - Thanks, I'll bear this in mind since I never know if Im going to color a sketch or not when Im drawing one lol.

Kvick - Thanks, I agree, Im always looking at professional work as its good to learn from when you look closer, Ive learnt stuff from doing this but I will try and compare mine to theirs more

Anywho, Havent drawn a dragon in months lol, but I was watching that Chris Calf dude on youtube last night, felt inspired and did this watercolor when I got back from school

    oh, hello!

it seems that your armor designs are improving, and that traditional lion is looking great!

... now, just... draw more often!

and... I need to upload more often!
    sketchbook anyone?

Hey zypherax, thanks for comment , do you have any sketchbook thread on this site? I cant see one :l but I've browsed through your deviant quite a bit

Messing with markers again earlier, they can be quite tricky sometimes, this is probably the best I've pulled off today -

Sketch of some undead from earlier, I was trying to play around with hatching, as I want my sketches to look more full but without realistic rendering. Outlined it a little with a fine liner.
