I'm an art student in Spain willing (like everyone in CA I guess) to live from preproduction art and visual development. I'm studying anatomy and drawing from life to improve in character art, and often try to paint something outdoors to improve, but for some reason I feel I lack "something" when trying to do environmental concepts.
I kinda get the basics (getting a light scheme working first, thinking in volumes, avoiding detailing until everything works...), but at some point in the painting there starts to be something pretty amateurish in my environments and I guess I need someone more experienced than me to guide my steps and help me make the step from advanced to professional.
I'm the kind of guy that tries to improve and learn (get books, visit museums, etc) by himself when out of class, so I guess I'm a good pupil!
Here's some material to check
kinda finished
