Hi everyone, I have an old sketchbook here ( http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...=101819&page=3 ) but it hasn't been updated in a vvverry long time and I feel like I have evolved a lot since then so why not start a more current sketchbook?

I'm currently a student at Uarts in Philadelphia studying illustration and I hope to be working as a concept artist one day for a video game or movie studio. I have about a year and half left before I go out in the real world so I'm trying to get my skills up to a respectable level before then.

This was a three part illustration i did for school. We had to tell a narrative with 3 frames.

I personally love cats so don't let the subject matter reflect my opinions

these are three sketches for a school assignment where we have to pick a quote from a list that was given and then interpret the quote.

the quote is, "Midway in our life's journey, I went astray from the straight road and woke to find myself alone in a dark wood."

I decided to go with the top one, started to refine it a little

here is an assignment for school where we have to include 5,7, or 9 figures

this was the first one i came up with


but i thought that i should probably include full figures to benefit from the assignment so i did another one


Both are wips, but i think im gonna go ahead with the second one

here is an update on the quote piece

i want to change the wine glass back to the short glass from before, and instead of wine maybe some hard liqueur. The far arm looks like shit, appreciate any help. Chair is also looking flat so ill have to mess around with it

For another class we have to create posters to promote ourselves

Here's another school project, we had to do 70 2x3 thumbnails from movie stills. I chose Citizen Kane. Done with 2 greys and black markers

Im really liking your landscapes, so nice and abstract! cool work! I think your portraits are dark and moody, with some minor anatomical issues-for example the guy drinking alchol, his head is either to big or his body is too small.

here is a huge dump of stuff i've been doing over the break, trying to get my anatomy skills up to par... looked at loomis, bridgman, bammes ...studies from photos... and practicing from my head

They go in order from latest to oldest for the most part

This was a school assignment where we had to pick a short story and then come up with an illustration to accompany it. I chose "All Summer in a Day" by Ray Bradbury.

You can read it here http://www.wssb.wa.gov/content/Class...0Day/story.htm , but to sum it up its about a class of nine year old kids who live on a fictional version of Venus. It rains all of the time except for every seven years when the sun comes out for one day. It follows one girl named Margot who gets teased and eventually is locked in a closet by her classmates during the period the sun comes out.

I didn't want to give anything away with my image because I imagine its the first thing the viewer is going to see before reading the story. Hopefully after reading the story the image will take on more meaning.
