    Sketchbook

Here it goes- mostly CHOW stuff-
Any crits & comments etc very welcome

I did a Fine Art course at college some years ago, it was all traditional mediums, I'm self taught when it comes to the digital stuff so I expect I make plenty of rookie errors! I use GIMP for all my digital work, I have sketches that need scanning too which I'll do at a later date

    some sketches and studies.

the ones of the kids didn't turn out so great, hard to keep things in proportion when they fidget so much!

Scanner is on the fritz so hand to take pics of these -sorry for the low quality

    Hi Clockwork,
This is a nice start of your SB. Never used GIMP by myself. Post #6 is my favourite.
My only suggestion is to pay more attention about the anatomy.
You are on your way, keep it up!

The last one looks rather good. It looks like you've made lots of progress with that one. I don't really have any good advice to give, but I think you're on the right tracks with your progress.

The sand dragon made me laugh, and it actually looks pretty damn cool as well. Good luck.

hey good works. maybe throw that airbrush away and try out some more textured brushes. often i made the experience that people which painted alot with airbrush and switched to more realistic brushes had made a huge step in case of quality

    cheers

    thanks for the support valUST.

The Dragon took a few hours, had to re make the head a few times as the sun dried it out, not the biggest I've made.
I've made life size horses, camels and lions in the past -all the pics i have me in them in a swim suit so not posting those!

All the advice in the CHOW forums has been a godsend! I hope I can show progress with the next lot of picture I do.

I like the way you draw and paint the feet, hands and fingers, I would like to master that skill. Beautiful paintings you have.

I hate bad days like this - inspired but the head and hand don't seem to want to work together!
