When you have drawn so much you kinda feel repulsed by working -- how do you start?

i get wired and fidgety when im not being productive.... but then, sometimes after a while i dont want to draw either and just thinking about it makes me feel 'blah'

Do you ever get like that..... And then feel like your head is running in circles over analyzing...?
what gets you motivated to work again? i hate this feeling.

My wrist hurts too. do you think taking tylenol and just continuing is dumb........? yeah i take breaks . im taking another one now. (typing with one hand..) but my wrist is still...a whiny bitch ten minutes in. its

Your wrist really shouldn't be hurting. How are you holding whatever tool your using? Try to loosen up a little bit.

If I'm on a deadline I drag myself to the art anyway, usually after having calculated the amount of time I need to put in that day to hit my goal. Then I promise myself shiny rewards if I actually manage to work that long. If my wrist hurts when on deadline I take 30 second breaks every 5-10 minutes and a longer break once an hour, and I stretch my wrists and back during those breaks.

If I'm not on deadline I just take an evening off. Do I want surgery on my wrists? No. Do I want to screw my hands up so badly I might never draw again? Hell no. So why would I risk that if I don't have to?

Give your injured wrist a couple of weeks rest. Start drawing with the other hand.
And if you feel demotivated, just think how much more fun a minimum wage job at McDonalds will be.
    Always motivates me like hell.

Sometimes you just have to relax and do something else until the 'right mood' strikes you back. I find that over-analyzing just gets me into even worse stump. Watch a movie, go out, take your dog for a walk, tidy your room, whatever, just give your brain a rest.
Or watch a couple of ChiuStreams, that helps too

As for your wrist - gels help a lot, and use your tablet instead of mouse (for browsing and working on computer, not just drawing). Bad sitting posture can affect the pain as well (this happened to me). If it's really bad, please go see a doctor immediately. You don't want to damage your hand permanently.

Try a different process of mark making than you usually do. Try doing things by chance and using random materials and mediums. Try finding different surfaces to work on. Try different subject matter you usually draw. Keep your mind flowing and energized with new ideas. Usually experimenting can spark your mind with new ideas and techniques. For me, drawing the same thing all the time over and over gets kind of boring. You don't actually have to be using your hands at all times to make drawings, but rather letting the medium do the work or setting things up to where its less you and more chance but with some intentionality.

LOL! you are sooooo right. I actually used to work for a restaurant and it was one of the worst experiences ever. amputator_tots, I personally look at my favorite artist work. Just looking at it makes me grab my pencil . If it's a really bad day I put some chill music on and just take my time. This ultimately ends up being a loooooong work day but it's cool because I'm relaxed the entire time. good luck!

    Pretty much.

I don't think that I get sick of drawing exactly, but if I'm in too bad of a mood, I need to take a break so I don't make it worse. Let off some steam, do something else, then come back to it.

And try loosing up. Even when I was holding my pencil improperly, I rarely ever had my hand hurt from drawing and I've always drawn a lot. You're probably holding your pencil too tight, your hold should be loose. Posture is also important as well.
