    Thanks for the comments!

Final EoW entry.. I built a basic sketchup model for this one to find a camera angle which showed the depth down the corridor while keeping a decent composition. The xrays and the circular bits along the wall to the right of the door were based on photo texture, everything else was hand painted. Slow but fun!

For the design the general idea was to combine elements from a submarine with a stereotypical "secret" lab, a la Resident Evil. Lots of rounded forms and humidity hopefully get the underwater feel across without resorting to a massive glass window with fish swimming past like a Bond villian's boudoir...

the last enviro is shweet, you got the textures down! My only crit would be that the light fixtures need some haze, since the room is filled with steam the light would disperse throughout that

Thanks for the comments, much appreciations and thankings. Just a very tired, very quick late night doodle today. Been playing Soul Reaver for the billionth time so probably influenced by that. I'd give one of my limbs to go back in time and work on that game

Just some quickies for today - a face practice sketch and some game screenshot mini-studies, focusing on colour. I re-read the chapter in James Gurney's book on gamuts after reading a post on the Muddy Colours blog (link) and decided to give it a try. It's quite surprising how limited the pallettes are in most video games, especially the best looking ones it seems.

Apologies for the lack of posts lately, been ridiculously busy working on things I can't show but will hopefully have something to post soon. For now here's some random studies, doodle-designs in ballpoint/pencil and an environment sort of inspired by DS3 and The Thing.

I really love your thumbnail sketches.

Your use of lighting and composition made the piece work really well even with barely any details.

Great stuff, I can learn a lot from you.

Beautiful environments, especially the thumbs. It's amazing how well limited colors work. I'm really enjoying this one
, it's amazing how simple yet powerful it is.

And the texture work is inspiring as always.

Nice environments! You really bring them alive, I feel like I can just jump in and wander around a bit. Though I think I'd be too scared to. A lot of them have this sort of something scary is going to pop out and eat you any minute quality to them. lol Anyway, nice work.

Decided to study some medieval costume (from photo ref) but do it as a character design. This is pretty horrible, especially the face, but it took a fraction of the time of a normal character render.
