new page i think?? just another pencil update.

first image- far left is a creature I sketched out during work this morning, middle is just a more 'finished' version of another sketch on the previous page, far right is another guy i sketched last night at work whom i call Gluttony lol.

second image- an embarrassing color practice that i started last night from one of wanimal's photos. yes, there's a lot of anatomical correction needed haha. anyway, wanimal's a very diverse and talented artist. check out his sketchbook: http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=83464

2 pages of 'studies' done this afternoon @ work and an imagination sketch. why do i always draw people with bows n stuff lol >.< kinda wish i could take pictures of the process because it was originally some dude taking a stretch, and then i changed it around and it ended up as this guy with horns :o

anyways i was browsing through a couple sketchbooks and saw that some artists doing these black/white doodles. thought i'd do some of my own. really enjoying it and i think i will do some more to exercise my imagination with.

i was @ the casino last night with some family and so i decided to attempt and draw people from life, so here are 2 sketches i did. it was my first time really to do a life drawing of actual individuals :3

wow can't believe i worked on Christmas... here's what I sketched at work, and color progress on morrigan. i dunno if i should continue the coloring on her, everything always seems to be too soft looking. using a hard brush, but i suppose it has something to do with opacity jitter and the brush flow that seems to be getting in the way when i try to create hard edges... xD

@Twan:thanks a bunch for stopping by Twan. yeah proportions are my weakness, i should really be improving on it, but i find that my studies are just a mess xD. will work on it, thanks again!


attempted an environment study that is ref'd while trying to incorporate rule of 3rds. not sure if rule of thirds is effective if you're reffing from a pic (??). anyways took about an hour, .gif process and all included in the post.

i just noticed how my studies are just all over the place, can't really focus on one thing, really gotta work on focusing on just one thing at a time, or 2 at the most. gaaahhh so much to work on!

today's stuff. did a pencil sketch at work, which i really had no idea what i was drawing. for some reason i wasn't driven to do some sketches today, i'm really tired lately.

also, a second environment study, not quite satisfied with it, but i'm learning.

and lastly, some photo study that i probably won't be able to finish, i just realize how much detail is in it, i think i went ahead of myself and chose something difficult to study. but.. i like how his shoes turned out LOL

What's happening, from what I can see, a lot of improvement is happening
Honestly it looks like your gonna be one amazing artist very soon if you keep going at it like this.

The black and whites are super, I think I'll start doing some too ;p
and all the characters and doodles look like great fun to do.

It's really sweet that your balancing this with a lot of studies too. Also studying from your favourite artist will only help you improve even more.

@lilnebo: thank you very much for stopping by lilnebo. let's keep working at becoming better artists. as for your crimson daggers question, i started out with them from day one, and only lasted for 2 weeks, then i realize that i can do the studies and all that good stuff on my own. they're a real great group, and i really gotta thank dave for starting such a wonderful group. the whole crimson daggers got me motivated to improve. so let's keep going!

tackling skulls again.. wai they so hard??? D: haven't done a study from loomis in a while, so i cracked it open and tried doing some of these. i don't really see much improvement with the skulls xD really gotta start doing these technical studies again

i feel like your morrigan could use a bit more contrast (i usually have a problem with that as well and don't see it on my own stuff ) and maybe her head is a bit too small?
Other than that, great updates! Love the sketches and paints in your post nr 113. And the skulls are looking pretty good as well
