Cygear: Thanks alot. Yeah I get Freelance Illustration work at the moment but it's not the kind of work I really want to be doing, although it's fun.

I really want to get into movies and videogames but illustrations for things like wizards of coast and book covers would be cool. Also I'm trying to get good to the point where I feel confident with any project that might come my way so that there would be alot of freedom with things.

My main goals are listed on the right side of my latest schedule.
I've been drawing throughout my life but only really studying and focusing on improving over the last 2 years.

I used to do graffiti and just sketch random crap, without ever realising the importance of foundational study of things like anatomy and all that until a few years ago.

I did an Illustration course but felt it stifled my progress, not that I didnt learn alot but it was very slow compared to what I couldve been learning with my current schedule.

Anyway thanks alot and I wish you all the best with your own endevours.

Matty: Yeah it's about whatever works for you, so hope you can gain something from it. I had a look at your sketchbook, I like the studies you're doing.

    Playing with ink

    Some Still lifes

    self-portrait

And some enviro stuff. Feeling too tired to do the rest of the tasks today.

I really like your ink studies, especially the lady with the scarf, I just think she has a really lovely amount of light and shade.
Also as said by matty mccullum, your work ethic has inspired me. I joined conceptart.org to be inspired and actually get my butt kicked into gear, so thanks for helping out with that

My old back pain has crept back on me, so I havent been doing as much drawing. It's getting better now, I just wasn't taking enough breaks.

zepheenia: Thanks yeah CA.org really got me me taking this art stuff seriously too.
Mag-neo: Thanks, I see you're doing alot of studies too, so keep that up.
matty mcmullen: Yeah it means alot to me so I tried to show that in the painting, thanks.

So it's getting late and I got a bunch of stuff to scan from yesterday, but instead I'll just post a couple of things from today. I got a new laptop so was spending a bunch of time preparing that, plus getting some freelance work done. The laptop will be good and allow me to do more outdoor observational digi stuff. heh I feel bad when I don't get heaps of studies done but it's all good, can't win 'em all.

Some sketchy middle east dude studies

Work in progress too tired to finish it right now

oren90: Thanks. Thanks for the tip about the ink. I'll try different size brushes and stuff in futures.

    some things

I got a laptop so I got to have some fun and do some master studies form life at the gallery. Kills my back though without a table. Then got to use it at life drawing too, pity longest pose was 45 mins, not really long enough.

ccp85: Thanks man, yeah I'm a bit inconsistent unfortunately, although I draw everyday I get a bit slack with the schedule some days.
Oren90: thanks always for the kind words, I really appreciate it. I just noticed you live in Israel, what's it like living there?
    Daz: thanks.

Ok so I've been reading alot and had my mind on other things apart from Art just to gather some thoughts. Also been researching different markets and companies that're out there so that I can tailor my portfolio accordingly. Plus freelance work, so that's why lack of updates, but here's some stuff. Should be more regular now that I've got some things out of the way.

    watercolours, from life

    then attempted on laptop

The baby on the left is my 7 month old nephew, he's really active, so hard to draw

Boobs a bit more up and in perspective.
Also do you want that her trousers are so long up?

    Hey

Iterestig work paln. I am doing something like this as well, but to be honest its a lot different. Do you really have time to do all the things you have in the list for the curent day? I personally try to draw at least 3 hours a day. It might seem like a short time but sometimes its quiet hard to achieve it. Especially when I have to draw after school. Also, do you think its wise to study so many subject at one time? I mean, from my experience, it takes a whole week to go throught all head parts and proportions. I cant imagine mixing it with all the other things, it would be so confusing. So my plan is kind of sorted to week phases. Each month for a specific area of concept art. This month and the last one was for character design. Anyway, interesting paln again I will read it more carfefully once I get some spare time. Keep up the good work.

Silwynar: Thanks for pointing out those problems, noticed how wrong it was after I fixed it. Yeah her trousers are high waist. The scene is supposed to be near-future and I noticed High-waist jeans were becoming popular.

Oren90: Thanks mate. well I have 2 days a week on the schedule now for doing enviros. Plus I feel improvement is about tackling weaknesses.

lilnebo: Thanks Nibras, I see you have been making some big steps lately.

Fregy: Well If I'm at home all day then yeah I get it all done. But lately it's been such good weather that I've been out and about and also doing some freelance work. I still try to focus on the subject of the day at least if I can't do all the tasks.
As for your own plan it's best to tailor it to the amount of time you have. You might get some ideas from my plan but it's really about making a plan that works for your personally.

Storylover: As I mentioned to Fregy just figure something out that works for you and what you want to target. What matters most in the end is just drawing as much as you can.

Faun: Cool, you gonna start a sketchbook?

Ok, so I was down in Canberra for a few days to check out the Parisian Gallery exhibit. It was so busy, had to wait in line for 2 1/2 hours but was all worth it when the first painting I saw was a Sargent piece. Plus seeing the galleries australian artists section was crazy good, they had heaps of Tom Roberts, Arthur Streeton and Hugh Ramsey.
So here's some things... Some of the stuff is from prior to my trip

    progress on this thing

    prgoress on leighton study

Study of aussie artist, I forget his name...

thumbs of australian countryside from the train window

Sketching people waiting in the queue

And Sargent study from the real thing, La Carmencita, pity they wouldnt let me bring my laptop in.

Just a reminder, some anatomy in your life sketches are still off. But the other from slower approach is looking okay. I like the color in this one. You are doing great, keep it up.

oren90: Thanks for the encouragement as always, I really appreciate it.
Witcrack: Thanks for pointing that out, yeah I really gotta stop neglecting my anatomy/figure studies

SO here's some things from today and yesterday, experiments and studies with gouache ink and a brush pen.

I gave up on this thing, I felt I learned alot but it's time to move on, I see heaps of problems with it but I can't be bothered with it anymore.

no problem man we're a community here if we won't support each other who will
about the update, the enviros look awasome as always, liked the urban sceneries and the first ones in water colors I would only suggest that the one with the two boats in it you would do in a wide format like the one above it

    cheers

oren90: A yeah good point about the format. Yeah, I've been experimenting alot with traditional mediums, and was preparing a bunch of canvases today, really fun.

ryan: They're from the train trip from sydney to canberra. Because the train is moving I was piecing together views that I was seeing, and trying to compose them nicely.

These are from a couple days ago, I got an annual pass to the aquarium which includes entry to a zoo so I get to draw plenty of animals from life. I've done alot of stuff today but will post that next time.

so marine creatures from life at the aquarium

    and a tree from life
