Worked on these for last week, I'm not really happy with them as I wanted to clean them up and add more shading to them, but anyway, posting them up even though they look like crapola.

I started making my pirate maquette, please see here.
Thank you.

We have to draw some animals this week, for school.
So, I'm just getting warmed up with these quick sketches of some fire salamanders.
Edward
Added some foil to bulk out my maquette.
Some more progress, bulked out the arms with foil, and put on his polystyrene head.
Started to block out the character with plasticine.
Where it all begins...
Fairy - work in progress 1
Pirate maquette - work in progress 6 - started sculpting some features, roughed in the basic stuff, and working toward the final shape.
Really excited to see the pirate!
Thank you bro, the picture of my completed pirate maquette should be up soon. I had to hand it straight into the University, so I didn't get a chance to photograph it yet.
To be honest I think my anatomy skills need a serious boost, in addition to an improvement in line quality. Thus the following sketch.

Okay, tonight's Hogarth Study #2, in my journey to make passable art.
Thank you.
Edward
hey man,
Studies are looking good. Your maquette looked really good in the flesh as wellI would just suggest maybe doing more hogarth studies. Just cram like 5 or 6 onto the page and make yourself do a couple of pages. I know I'm not one to talk but it looks like you're spending a long time on your hogarths, they look great but I reckon you'd learn more doing several quick ones than one long one? just a thought
keep up the good work

Heya bro
Thank you for the compliments on my maquette, I hope it goes down well with the bods at Uni too.
Sure thing, I'll get going on some Hogarths, quicker ones this time and more on a page as you suggested. I'd definitely like to learn more in this case, so I'll take your advice on this.
Just did the following study this evening, it was quicker than the last one, so in that sense I think I may have speeded up a bit, but then it's only one sketch, so the next ones I'll do a few instead. Thank you for the advice and keep well bro.
Edward
It's cool that you're doing gesture studies from Force, and that sculpture looks pretty rad. Keep up the stuff from imagination for sure, and I'd love to see some anatomy studies and drawings from life too. Let's see some more posts soon!
ok, soooo,
1. the pirate looks really good. i can't wait to see the finnished thing.
2. the fairy w.i.p, it reminds me of absynthe, i know thats sort of weird and probly not healthy, but maybe you could link it somehow? i think a big part of it is because its green, lol
3. the space gun painting thing.... have you ever seen starship troopers?
there is a scene where they land on a planet and these bugs shoot this plasma goo stuff into space, your painting made me think of that. again, maybe you want to take a look if u havent already seen it?
anyways, i really like your stuff, so keep it coming,
cya around!

Heya folks
@JeremyGordon
- Sweet thx's for the ups bro, I appreciate it and will start looking around me for life studies, anything applies at this moment really, so I shouldn't have any excuse.
- Also thx's for the tip on the painting book, was recommended somewhere in your sketchbook, read some of it over the weekend.
@ClockworkSnail!
- Still awaiting my maquette back from the Uni, not sure how long they're going to keep it for, hopefully not too long now. Maybe another week or so.
- For the fairy, I could add a bit of booze, maybe some smoke as well, could make her a really dirty little thing, we'll see what can be done about it.
- Yip, seen Starship Troopers, I used to play the little video game for it, although it doesn't work anymore on my computer. For some strange reason I just thought to paint some plasma, I had this urge or something to express energy, always wanted to do that, haha!

Tonight's drawing is below, trying hard to up the quantity here, think I need to drink more to loosen up.
Keep well everyone.
Edward
Oh, forgot this one, it was made during a contextual studies lecture.
Needed a break today, so I drew these things from Wolf's Rain and Macross Plus. Enjoy!
Hola
Perspective study, did it after watching Underworld, not sure what motivated me actually, maybe it was Kate's curves, who knows.
Then just my thumbs and storyboard for the shizzle I've been working on this week. Was a grind but good exp nonetheless. I'll put up the video on YouTube soon-ish, it's an interpretation of a painting.

Heya Clockwork
Mmm, I'm not sure whether I would really want to try absinthe, I can get high on everyday life pretty easily.
Quality is something I'm constantly looking at rest assured, although those are quick sketches. I'll see about something neat this weekend, in amongst the dirty ones.

Some things from last night...
Cafe Reno - some restaurant on the beachfront in Port Talbot, started to sketch some folks at a table, the balustrade interested me, then I started drawing the curvy waitress, see if you can spot her.
Hmmm.
Some shots of Anne-Marie (life drawing model.)
From imagination - an eye and a breast.
The Avatar - work in progress 1, inspired by H R Giger.
alien thing? it's oke, don't give up! i see that you have fantasy, and if you love this, it's gonna be oke in time!
