Hey there! Just got a look on your latest work. Whooo, look at those brushes! The subject really pops out nicely. Great stuff! Just watch the wings, I think their a little misaligned with each other. o_o

I'm interested in what's coming up next! And great about your finger feeling better!

Thanks everyone for drooping by my sketchbook - appreciate the feedback and comments. I hope no one minds my constant experimenting, I seem to lack the patience to stay in one place ><

@Jazz, thanks! I didn't notice that when I was doodling, I should really pay more attention D:

@Demon Lizardman: Yep, I do all my coloring in Photoshop.

Life's a bit hectic for me as of late. Some texture studies I did, I saw the template being posted on an imageboard I frequent and decided to give it a try. Will update with more texture studies soon.

The metal ones are paintovers I did for someone.

Awesome texture studies! I need to do some of those for sure, they look pretty helpful. I think the stone one looks best.
The wood one has a bit too much of a furry look to it I feel. Good stuff, keep it up!

Jeremy beat me to it. the wood does look furry. but the other pieces look great.

all the pipes are really convincing.

I'm loving the texture studies. They really seem well-done.

And constant experimentation is fine. In fact, I need to do more of it.

Thanks jeremy and Milan, will fix the fuzzy wood. :3

Did a drawing/study from life today. Was home alone so I got my toy robot to pose for me. I love him, he's highly poseable and so very visually appealing. Doodled another profile view in brushpen to unwind after that. I'll have to find some better quality paper to draw on next time since these don't accept pigments so well.

Why is everything facing west erg.

@Ardescoere: I used a custom textured brush for the wood, but everything else is drawn with default round brushes.

Eep, sorry I've been dead-ish D: Thanks again to everyone who stopped by~

Non-productivity! Doodles, gifts and miscellany! Not improving! Ahhhh!

Trying my hand at realism, sort of. Something seems to have gone wrong. ._.

I want to try my own of one of those memes. And I'm liking the sort of stylized linework on the realistic picture.

last one has turned out pretty nice. On the female knight one, maybe he shoulders are a bit too high, and too close to the body. THe moon behind her head/halo looks really good. Keep at it!

I agree, I see improvement. Anatomy / Bridgman studies will help you achieve realism better, and draw from photos of people and draw people from real life and capture their gesture. Keep it up : ]

@Abrodos: Ahh, thanks! I'll try not to make the same mistake again.

@Dan, I blame laziness for lack of anatomy and still life. But I'm going motivate myself to do them

@Jeremy, I'm having trouble finding Bridgman stuff, but I got my hands on some Loomis so I'll give that a try sometime.

In the meantime I gave realism another try - used my own face as reference, but changed the neutral lighting on my photo to a top-down one to test my knowledge of the planes on the face. What do you all think?

Some skull doodles to go with the face, also. Starting out slow and steady.

Great work here. One thing I noticed was most of your colors have almost the same level of saturation. Try you most saturated colors in parts like highlights when you paint. It should give your art more pop.

But you're getting better! I would love to see more, keep it coming. And they're right, do life studies and anatomy studies.

@Ardrescore: Still lives/lifes (?) delivered! 2 for today: a pile of frog's legs on a chopping board and a figure of... erm, I don't know which character this faceblob is supposed to be.

I don't really gravitate towards the anime style, but I think you're getting a definite sense of form.
