Happy self portrait day from England.
This was done in painter. Started it as the sun began to set quickly.

My first SP day, so a huge thanks to Oblio for making it happen!!! Excellent work everyone!
Anyhoo, this one took about 8 or 9 hours in photoshop using photo reference... but somehow I always get caught up in all the details and it's way too tight.
So then I tried to loosen up a bit (photoshop/photo ref, about 2 hrs)... *sigh*Oh well, there's always next year.

Thanks for this, Oblio!
Here's mine, quickie in the sketchbook, I hope to get an opportunity to get more work in on it before time runs out:
Quick digital sketch from a photo. The lighting by my computer is crap.

I've visited CA off and on for years. Had no idea Self-Portrait Day would be happening when I did a drive-by today. But it looked like fun...
I'm only an artist inside my head: many big ideas that never make it to reality. Usually I stick to the graphic design side of the fence, with a bit of abstract photography.
I've never done a portrait before, but I'd like to think that some of the techniques I've seen at CA have been recalled and used in this piece.
Cell phone photo from this morning, Photoshop, mostly paint-over: forgive me, but I still need the training-wheels!

Sweet job everyone!

Used a photo taken yesterday as reference
Photoshop CS3, only used Randis' custom brush and after watching his portrait painting tutorials (very helpful).
1hr quickie, used a digital photo as ref, but half of it is made up, to be honest.
First serious self-portrait ever, to be honest, ehe.
Paint Tool Sai and a bit of Photoshop.
Happy Portrait Day! This happens to be my first day on ConceptArt, and this my first post. I love looking at everyone's stuff. I'm not half as talented. Eh, maybe it'll be better next year.

This is the first time I have done a self portrait ( I have done portraits of other people though ), so I thought this Self Portrait Day was the ideal time to have a go. I haven't posted here for a few years so this is a great way to get back into it.
