    Animation - Background Art Showreel

    Hi all,

I've just finished up at the 'Arts Institute at Bournemouth' where i focused on background painting/enviroments. I had an awesome time there, we worked in teams so I got to specialise for the last 2 years. Heres what I ended up with

    Enjoy

I like it. Not sure why the palettes are monochromatic but it's an inspiring reel nonetheless.

    Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful work. Your reel was inspiring. Send it out! And if you already have, have you gotten any responses yet?

By the way, I'd like to see that short film online (the Great Race)!

    Thanks eddie and koji

The great race was sent out to festivals, and it was lucky enough to win 5 1st place student animation awards in the UK (one the Royal Television Society)
And got a second place in a US festival. http://www.gokafi.com

Unfortunately due to the requests of festivals we can't put the videos online for a year and a half after they are made. The great race might be avaible at some point and if so I will let you know.

Also there is a korean festival (pisaf) held online this year due to the swine flu...
But the good side is both films might be availiable through this in novermber time. Again i will make it know/pm you.

I say! Very well done my friend, some of the methods you have used are some I will be testing out at some point.

I like the way you kept the construction lines for the keyframes in on your characters and the were very well stylized, everything went well together and nothing looked out of place.

You backgrounds have lots of mood to them aswell, I feel the composition of the shots was well thought out and I would like to see the full animation.

It's a shame my animation course didn't do anything this intense and our project work sucked. But I spose it was more well rounded and lots of illustration in aswell as animation.

Good job man, I hope it gets you work in the future.

Breathtaking. Really really beautiful. And as a fledling animation student, I can say it's also incredibly inspiring.

Absolutely stunning .... I loved it and the topic you chose to animation. It was one of those that you just wanted to see keep going and going. Very nice!
