    Great cartoon characters man.
You have a really good perception about this cartoonish style and the values.
Work more on sharpening your edges and it's all there.
    Keep up!

Obviously anyone who agrees that I'm a sad excuse for a man is going to intrigue me, so I just had to stop by. (No really though, I was way outta line that night. Too drunk, too depressed and too angry. I was pretty much aiming to lash out at as many people as possible. Again, sorry about that.)

The Walter White portrait is friggin' awesome. You really captured the essence of the character, and there's really no need to explain who you were trying to draw, because it's chrystal clear. I'd like to see more semi-finished work though. Sketches are all good, but a value exercise not only does good, but looks good. The facial studies you had on the previous page were pretty awesome, and your ability to stylize is coming along nicely. What kind of field would you most like to work in?

    Hope there's no bad blood.

Haha I don't recall us ever arguing or anything? I think you have the wrong guy?

But thanks for stopping by and for the compliments! You are right about doing more studies, and that's exactly what i've done I havent done studies in so long and feel i havent really progressed as a result - so im gonna do much more.

Picking a field is the thing im struggling with most... as id really like to start putting a portfolio together that has focus. I suppose childrens editorials / books would feel like the most natural direction. My longterm dream would be to work for Avalanche/Pixar but who knows!

Not updated in a while! Here's a bunch of random sketches from a bit ago and a caricature commission. I recently came to realise that I've not been pushing my self like I need to. So there should be many more updates after this one

Used the guys head for an initial illustration sketch

Also finally gave environments a go during a month on Noah's mentorship. Here's the end result. A very long way to go with environments but it was good fun

Alot of nice work in this thread, Is the alligator in post #73 inspired by Louis from the princess and the frog?

Are you a student? or work in an art related profession?
You seem to have a good all around understanding of characters , emtions, movement, and an how to use differnt mediums. Your first animation project is very good, it shows good understanding of the principles of animation.

Thanks Joe I'm a student but I do freelance here and there. I'm not getting much work so I'm going back to fundamentals to try and get better, and hopefully have a better and more focused portfolio by the end of the year. I think I enjoy animating more than painting when I do it, but most of the time I just don't seem to have the patience for it.

    Here's another Fowkes study.

Oops, forgot to edit. The alligator was inspired / ripped off from one of the Avalanche Artists... can't remember exactly now.

3rd study. Not too happy with how this one came out.

I love your sketchbook- It's awesome when a cartoon avatar actually leads to cartoons .
You've got a great line economy and a nice variety of subjects. Gonna have to keep an eye on this sb

    Happy sketching!

Nice stretching that imagination muscle, I like where the one in post 111 is heading; keep going :]
