Ok so I think I might add a fun background to the mushroom drawing I was working, as suggested by a few people. So here is my sketch for moving forward on that. Its such a new style for me that its a bit daunting.

You have some wonderful work here, you are someone we should all watch, i know i will be. Voted.
The picture at the very top there is so cheerful it scares me.
Excellent work. I just saw your name here for the first time and immediately thought of this, so I hope you like:
LoL ya matt its strange to me also. Gives me an oddly happy feeling, freaky! lol
Thanks TASmithI heard the original a few months back and it quickly became my favorite song haha. I never knew the muppets did a version
In fact I think i will make this my sketchbook theme song lol

You got some amazing stuff going on! some of the best work I've seen here I think
But that girl up there.. she sorta looks like a dude in the face![]()
Freeware program called MyPaint, check it!

Aww thanksIve been trying to post serious work in here rather than the regular sketches. I guess when you get into the serious work of it all sketches look more like finished work. Anyway thanks so much!
Thanks Espaul! Thanks very kind of you to say (:^D I think your right on the comment about the girl. I think i may have made her brow too harsh and her jaw. Ive drawn men most of my life so Ive fallen into that trap. But Im working my way out a little bit at a time
I never realized that you could post youtube videos on CA. Ive done some art ones Ill share.
Here is one on making brushes. Just a basic vid for beginners. I dont really go into making really strong usable brushes. I leave that up to you. Also this is made in HD so if you click the video to go to the youtube page you can crank it up to 720p and fullscreen that badboy!

I realized when I was out at the lake that this could be an interactive sketchbook too! So here is a quick video of my drawing at the lake.
Hehe, I aboslutely love that mushroom! Great stuff you got in there. Also nice to watch other people sketch, thanks for sharing!
oh yeah, cool video, it's nice to see the process of you sketchingI usually draw things very softly first and draw over it again harder, but you do it with confidence in one try and it shows because your sketches look a lot less stiff than mine
Youve got some incredible work in here, thanks alot for the crit in my portfolio piece. Def some things to think about
Thanks AvisThat mushroom is a fun one. I was thinking about a mushroom character and the thought came to me that a psychedelic mushroom would see the world from a psychedelic point of view. So he should be high as a kite, though its completely normal to him hehe.
Thanks Lav. I agree its very beneficial and fun to watch others draw. Really opens your eyes to new possibilities. I draw the way I do because I just try things. If they dont work thats ok, I just draw again. Some people are very careful when they draw. I find that typically comes from people who are afraid of ruining their artwork. I think it has a place but its really a style of working. I would much rather just give'r and refine it as I go. The art to me is second nature to the intention behind it.
Thanks DeeStar and you are very welcome. We are all here to grow together. How do we benefit ourselves if we do not attempt to benefit another? You cannot teach yourself what you do not knowNot easily anyway haha
Here is a new painting Ive been working on here and there. I am painting it all on one layer and backing up the layer here and there when I like where Im at. Its much like an oil painting in that way.
I also wanted to share with you guys the "finished" avengers painting. I won the competition also![]()
Here is one of my newest pieces I just finished for Amerinada. This was a long process to get to this point but I am very happy with the results. Now I cant wait to see it in all its glory on the back cover of Maximum Yield Magazine.
I painted the whole thing in photoshop, focused on the look and feeling of elvis to try and capture his essence. I think I nailed the likeness. For the ballast itself I used a photo I took to get the right angle.
you've got beautiful pieces of work here i loved the devil from Tenacious D and the avengers looks awasome![]()
Thanks Oren. Im not sure which devil you are referring to. The first one I just made up (its on the first page) and the second one is from the movie legend. I think the second looks more like the tenacious D one but I suspect they got it from that 1980's movie also.
Ive been sketching in my sketchbooks lately. Thought I would start to post some for whoever enjoys viewing my stuff.
Wow, I really really love the last bunch of scans, that's incredible. I'd love to see more of it.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE your sketchbook! VERY inspiring stuff man. That satan guy is siiiiiiick. 5 stars and sub :]
And some more Wow thanks BagtaggarHonestly I never post my sketch pages. I try to give people the best I can rather than all my sketches. Im starting to realize this is a sketchbook and it would be much more beneficial if people witnessed my growth over time. Ill def post more sketch pages for you and everyone
Thanks!
Aww thanksHappy that I am able to deliver something inspiring
Thought I would share a few more pages from my sketchbook.
cool stuff man =p
when you photoshop your sketches do you use multiply layers? or you just paint ontop? im a bit noob @ photoshop =[
