Heres another "quick" one. Prob 30min - 1hr , didnt really pay attention. One of my favorite child hood heroes. The hillarious Ernest P Worroll, played by the late Jim Varney. I tried to get a good likeness.

Thanks GeoD, I will be doing more of those amongst my other studies and work. I have one I am working on now from Braveheart Lots of details though.

thanks tim, all corel painter charcoal too love how digital can look so real.

You should check him out SirGreenSock. Jim Varney is the actor, the character he plays is Ernest. Such a fun character to watch

Here is a new speed painting I did. I say speed painting because the initial comp was developed through creating brushes and playing with them. Inevitably I worked on it for a few hours and had lots of fun exploring it. I think ive really molded it into a nice rendering. Ive been studying a lot and incorporated a lot of what I have learned.

Ya totally! Man I loved that movie as a kid. In my mind Ernest was just as entertaining as Jim Carrey. He had a personality perfect for embodying silly fun characters. And hew as my idol lol.

I had this goin in a WIP thread but didnt get a single reply interestingly so I am not 100% on this being completed. I want to wait on it for a while and see how it strikes me later on. I enjoyed making something with super heroes a lot! it was quite fun. Let me know your thoughts.

Hey man, cool sketchbook. I've posted in your WIP thread.
I think generally your paintings may need a little tightening up (which you can certainly do looking at that last one! cool stuff).

Thanks Sloth, I just replied to your post on the WIP thread thanks for that btw. I agree with your observation. I have been studying a lot and feel like tightening my paintings up is becoming a little more easier. The problems are questions I am on a quest to find answers to. Some I have a lot of answers and a lot I am still searching Thanks again!

Heres a quick lion sketch for today.

Pretty good sketchbook, I just love how you use the color, my favorite one is the one with spiderman, and daredevil, hulk, sorry I don't know the other character.

    Thanks Andres, Thanks Zaim

I bought some blueline paper and drew a picture of wolverine to try it out and my new markers. I edited it in photoshop after cause Im still no comic artist that can do it right the first time lol.

edit/ I thought I should also explain, if it wasnt obvious, that the whole in the broken wall behind him is meant to also look like a moon. I think it adds to the scene because it bring out a little more animal.

I did a study on the skeleton and muscles. I thought it would be cool and smart to try to find the skeleton and muscles on someone so I chose James Dean. I think next I will do one on Hugh Jackman because he is well defined. I also tried to find the muscles but the references I used for the facial muscles weren't very clear. The references actually showed different muscles on each one. Different ways they connect. So I wasnt sure which were correct. I did my best.

Well a while ago I thought it would be fun to soak some paper in dark dark dark hot tea and then dry it out so it has a nice old feel and look to it. I did that and decided in the process to make a sketchbook from it. It took a long time to make all the paper and then flatted them out and start putting together something. The quality isnt good, its a rough first one lol. I looked online and there are some very awesome handmade sketchbooks. I will be looking into new methods and hopefully trying them one day.

It was a fun experience and project. I got a real sense of what it was like for artists hundreds of years ago who made their own tools. They made their own paints, papers, paint brushes. This was just a taste. Theres a real sense of pride making something like this. Not only is it a fun project to make but it enhances the sketchbook also.

There is so much texture on this that it will be a fun adding to that. Let me know what you think.

Ive been working on my costume for halloween for the past couple weeks. I need to have it completed this week obviously but Im close enough to be finished right now. Now its finishing touches.

The costume is based on the eagle from the movie eagle vs shark. Mine is a lot more complicated obviously. I just had to go full on hehe. Let me know what you think.
Also here is the one from eagle vs shark:

Here is another poster I did for the Left 4 Dead mod Dead before dawn. This was made for marketing purposes. We managed to get coverage on a few PC gaming websites and magazines and wanted to provide conceptart and illustrative work.

That is so wickedly awesome.. I wouldn't mind a poster of that one. You should do one up for Andrew as well. You are just too cool.

Thats the trick or treaters above this line... lol

I thought I would post a few halloween photos. It was fun seeing all the reactions to my costume. some people asked if I bought it which was a great compliment. Then I got a real evil eye from a halloween costume shop when we were walking in the mall. I think i made it more apparent that they were selling cheap costumes lol. I made it too front heavy after walking around for a while so i put some weight in the back to balance it out. It will be fun to figure something out for next year.
