Hello everyone. I am a long time lurker who registered just recently. I'm hoping that starting a sketchbook will motivate me to draw more

Before I start posting my stuff I guess I should briefly introduce myself:

My name is Simon, I am 15 years old. I live in Sweden. I enjoy drawing/painting and I want to get better at it, just like everyone else.

Alrighty, here's some of my recent stuff.
First image is an eraser I painted from life, it's simple n' all but I'm happy with how it turned out.


Here's something i painted yesterday. I gave up pretty fast simply because I didn't like it at all. :/

The second and third page are studies from Loomis, finally the fourth page is posemaniacs 60 second poses. No scanner

No digital today, i'll try and get one done tomorrow.

Well, it's 3 AM now and I just finished this painting. I'm not particularly pleased with it. It's waay to late to keep changing it any more right now though. I had a lot of fun with it though and that's what matters, RITE GUISE?

studies are doing well... try being a little more deliberate with your linework when doign studies... try being alittle more confident and pick out some solid shapes within body parts.. last post is doing well, some of the figures could use a little lineweigth work.

Did two paintings today. I don't think I've ever finished two paintings in one day

First one is...um..a labyrinth or something. It was mostly experimentation as I've never done a digital environment before. I shouldn't have started painting the sketch as early as I did. As a result the perspective is skewed.
Second image is a study from photo.

Hey man, great sketchbook so far. I love the gestures towards the bottom of post two and the top left guy in post 13.
Improvement is definately seen.

Thanks for commenting Rob. I think my digitals have improved a little since I started this sketchbook.

I found some batteries for my camera so here's some reffed stuff. Sorry for the awful photos!

your linework is becoming more clear... i believe you need to do some studies on perspective (google or do some youtube videos on 1pt and 2pt perspective for drawing). Looking forward to the next update

hey man, i like your dedication your on the right way! stay at these studies and youll be there in no time! one point: perhaps try to concentrate on one thing at a time when you do studies!

I did quite a lot today I think.

Managed to get a photo study done before I get some sleep. The face is horrible and the legs are too long but I liked the way the clothes turned out so I'm posting it anyway.

Here's what I did today:
-Vanderpoel studies
-Attempt at using a ballpoint pen
-Moar pen shit
-Late night doodling
-Horrible start at a digital. Pretty sure I won't finish it.
-An early Sargent study WIP.

Goddamn, my poses are weak. Really need to work on that.

hey you got some cool concepts in here, some of your pictures look a little flat, i suggest you push the values more, make some darker darks for example:



also try not to have your future painting backgrounds go to dark, i would say make it as dark or a little lighter then the darkest color in your character.

Well, today I got next to nothing done. I'm always very tired on mondays. I did try out a new medium though! Which was charcoal. It feels amazing drawing with it, but the result was absolute shit. I need to focus more on construction.
