Facebook login issues

Hi, i'm new on CA, and I just created my account with the Facebook login feature.

My problem is that i'd like to change that because I'd rather have notification sent by email than through FB.

However, in order to change my email address (which is currently +app[...] sth@facebook), I need my current password, which wasn't provided to me during registration (I just chose my username, and voilà! )... and it isn't my regular facebook password.

Password recovery doesn't work with that facebook app link...

Since I just created my account I could also create a new one, but I'd rather keep my username.. :/

I am having the same issue, except that logging in is sporadic at best, clicking the FB connect icon does absolutely nothing for me, in fact, I have no clue how I logged in THIS time to post this. I just refreshed the page after trying to send myself my log in details and, blam I was logged in ?!

Very weird.

I'd like to keep my current username, but remove all FBConnect features from my profile. It is more hassle than worthwhile.

I'm having trouble understanding what your problem is, exactly. Sometimes you try to log in and it just doesn't work?

Ok, well, I signed up to CA.org via the facebook connect option. This was fine until I had to actually try to sign in. You would say, 'well just click the facebook connect button' and I would agree, except that clicking that button doesn't do anything. Literally, nothing.

So I thought, ok well I will just log in normally, except that (as the original poster stated) when you sign up via facebook connect you don't get any password, and the email associated with your account is some wacky facebook email string.

So, oddly, I can get myself logged in if I choose the 'forgot password' option and then navigate to the general forum page, it literally spontaneously just logs me in. *shrug* I have a feeling that this has something to do with my page cache/cookies.

Anyhoo. The point of all this is, I don't want to be connected to facebook through my account anymore. I want a separate login/password (but I also want to keep my current display name).

I've been having the same problem.

The last time before this, i used up all 5 out 5 login attempts before it mysteriously started to work. The password reset screen seems to be the only place where the facebook connect button would respond.

I cleared out my cookies, and deleted settings from the conceptart app thing from my facebook account.

I want to know what bizarro password this account needs to login, since i don't want to go through reregistering and i can put my email and junk in there.

@afroXcore: thanks for mentioning that the FB Connect feature works on the password reset screen, was finally able to log in and receive the PM that emily sent me.

Wow this whole FB Connect issue left a bad taste in my mouth. Terrible experience. But I will continue to post here because I like the users.
