Start by making a sketchbook on here, Carl. You'll get lots of advice and help if you do.

Carl, don't worry about having digital work in your sketchbook. It's much easier to study and improve your foundations with traditional media. So go ahead and start a sketchbook and post your stuff! The digital will come later

Sounds like a solid plan, Carl. Remember to put the link to your sketchbook in your signature so everyone can easily visit

You start a thread in the "sketchbook" section of this forum. Let's say you name it "Carl's sketches" or any name you like.
Then you post images in there of your drawings and other will help you improve by posting a critique or some other useful information.

And no. A graphic tablet is just another tool, you don't need it for start.

Your stuff is looking good. Make sure you keep a real sketchbook with you at all times and draw from life as much as possible. The art books will help point you in the right direction but drawing from life is the key to being a great pro.
